2004 Trials

The North Queensland Toyota Cowboys today announced that they would play a trial match at Mackay against Newcastle in preparation for the NRL Telstra Premiership on the 28th February 2004.
The Mackay Region Area Consultative Committee on behalf of the Mackay and District Rugby League will host the game. Chairman of the Mackay and District Rugby League Greg Sutherland said that it was great news for Rugby League in the Mackay and indeed the Central Queensland area. “Some of the best players in the game will be on display in Mackay next February and I know that the people will support the game”.
North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Football Manager Peter Parr said, “If all players are available it will be like a mini State of Origin considering 14 players from both sides will have played at origin level”. “Last year we played Manly at Mackay this year it’s the Knights, at the Toyota Cowboys we are pleased to be bringing high quality football to the region”.

The Toyota Cowboys players above are all from the Mackay region and are all expected to play in the trial next February.
