I am not sure if the addition of Price and wiki is enough to turn this team around. Your thoughts?
I think, in a word, no. The forwards will undoubtedly be strengthened
with the addition of these two guys, and that, along with the current
form of Iafeta (who, in my humble opinion, had his best ever game
for the Warriors last night) and Villa, means the up front stuff is in
reasonably good hands. I have very real concerns from the numbers
1 through to number 7. Outside backs and the halves are simply not
performing. We know they can because we have seen them do it before.
Jerome may (possibly) be the solution to the long term problem of
stand-off, but he is not there yet. I don't know if Stacey will ever return
to the form that made him one of the two best number 7's in the world.
I don't think he will...he started young and he is getting older and slower.
I have some major concerns with the coaching. As has been mentioned
by others, on this and other forums, Tony Kemp is continuing to select
players who are hopelessly out of form (a trait passed on by DA).
I suspect that during the DA vs Players debacle there may have been
an aspect of "good cop, bad cop" with Kemp becoming a little too close
to some of the players...just supposition on my part.
Fitness is another area which is well documented but needs to be
addressed.
So.....no, it's not enough, but it's a bloody good start. Nice post PDB,
a real thought provoker.
Cheers
