I am not sure if the addition of Price and wiki is enough to turn this team around. Your thoughts?

The best thing this team can do is erase the memories of season 2004 from their minds, it has truly been a nightmare.

Price and Wiki aren't any ordinary players and I think both of them will bring true leadership and direction to the club that has long been missing. Both players are born leaders and also lead by example. Plus the 2 of them are coming over at once so we won't have another "Matthew Ridge" situation where all the onus fell on him and he suffered because of it.

The two great players can take the load together and I'm sure it will have a huge effect on the club. The club still for mine needs another playmaker so hopefully Marsh will be fit to take that role on next year or Fien steps up to the plate.

But yes, I think Wiki & Price will make a huge difference to the club next year, no doubt about it.

Add John Carlaw to the mix to fill the wing space perhaps, and the Warriors might be on to something.

Carlaw is not a winger!!! He is a centre and good one at that. The Warriors need good link men in the centres to feed their wingers who are hopefully competent enough to catch a football and have good speed to boot.

I would like to see JC return the Warriors line up in 2005.

2 players will not change the whole team around but they are a start. We had problems with go forward and experiance and those 2 were bought in to fix that. Now we need to fix our attitude

Yeah, agreed, but there dosen't seem to be anyone else to go on the wing at the moment (Apart from Meli, but you need two).

I think, in a word, no. The forwards will undoubtedly be strengthened
with the addition of these two guys, and that, along with the current
form of Iafeta (who, in my humble opinion, had his best ever game
for the Warriors last night) and Villa, means the up front stuff is in
reasonably good hands. I have very real concerns from the numbers
1 through to number 7. Outside backs and the halves are simply not
performing. We know they can because we have seen them do it before.
Jerome may (possibly) be the solution to the long term problem of
stand-off, but he is not there yet. I don't know if Stacey will ever return
to the form that made him one of the two best number 7's in the world.
I don't think he will...he started young and he is getting older and slower.

I have some major concerns with the coaching. As has been mentioned
by others, on this and other forums, Tony Kemp is continuing to select
players who are hopelessly out of form (a trait passed on by DA).
I suspect that during the DA vs Players debacle there may have been
an aspect of "good cop, bad cop" with Kemp becoming a little too close
to some of the players...just supposition on my part.

Fitness is another area which is well documented but needs to be
addressed.

So.....no, it's not enough, but it's a bloody good start. Nice post PDB,
a real thought provoker.

Cheers

My thoughts exactly...

Tony Kemp - Really unsure. Hopefully with the correct tools (players) he will develop. I would still like to see a mentor (e.g. - Phil Gould at Easts) to provide guidance. The main reason being the fact that Iro, Campion and Kemp have about 12 first grade games as coaches betweeen them. People will mention the fact that DA came in with ZERO 1st grade experinence but then our expectations were ZERO

Backs - problems in every position. We need a specialist winger - not Martin (out of position too slow), Ropati (a 5/8), Manu ( ATM - too raw). Stacey now has to change his game as per Alfie Langer a few years ago - e.g - a distributor. 5/8 - still a problem despite the potential of some of our players here. Centres/wing - big problems.Fullback - unsure if Webb is the long term fix here. Reserve backs - too raw ATM.

Fitness - Agreed . I think it is more a reflection on the physical make up of our team

I think we do need another specialist winger. But all this talk our backs not performing i think stems from our forwards not performing up to scratch. We know what our backline are capable of, and they are still the same players capable of the same things. I think if the forwards start dominating up front, we will see the backs do their work.

Yes it will be enough, two of the three best forwards in the NRL

And i would like to hope that Kemp is open enough to take some ideas from Wiki and Price about their opinions on certain aspects of his coaching compared to Folkes and Elliot. And hopefully they will tell Kemp that training is a lot harder under Folkes and Elliot.

After the St George game this question needs to be asked once again especially some of the points raised by Skinner.

While I stick by my previous statement, I think it's high time the Warriors invested in a proper 5/8, a real 5/8. Jones can't take this pressure on his own, he needs support and Ropati, Hohaia & Leuluai just aren't providing that.

The Warriors really need to shop around and find another playmaker, spend the rest of the cap if they have to. The club is in good position to attract someone with the likes of Price and Wiki now on board.

This is a must in my mind, I've had enough of these shit performances.
