I'm going to give an unbaised opinion here. Because so far all i'm reading is bullcrap.

Fullback: Schifcofske v Hodgson (I rate this a draw, due to the fact that both have outstanding qualities. Hodgson has brilliant kicking and attack, where as Schif has brilliant kicking and defence. DRAW)

Winger: Chalk, Robertson v Richards and Reick (I'll take Richards over Robertson, but whoever said he'll play for NSW is kidding themselves, he has buckley's chance, unless there is a plethora of injuries. I'd take Chalk over Reick because Reick is just speed and nothing else. Chalk is an emerging player and will be a very capable winger)

Centre: Mogg, Gafa v Elford and Whatuira (I'd take Mogg over Elford in a heartbeat, I'd take Whaitura over Gafa even faster. I think the Tig's have the advantage overall here.)

Half: Withers v Prince (Whilst I think Todd Carney will be their half with Withers off the bench, I'd still take Withers because of his defence and attack. Prince was only in the SOO because Brett Seymour was injured. This year wont come close with Brett Seymour, possibly Berrick Barnes and even Michael Witt, if he plays well for Manly to be going for that position. Prince whilst good and i'd take him over a few halfbacks, i'd rather Todd Carney)

5/8th: J. Smith v Marshall - Whoever said no question here is right. Jason Smith is a proven campaigner and has one of the best heads in rugby league. He can read a play from anywhere. Benji Marshall is overrated to the max, the kid is not a playmaker and should be in the centres. He would be better if he bulked up and learnt how to tackle. In two years he'll be great, not now however.

Lock: T.Smith v Galea (c) - This is a no brainer. Ben Galea. I have big raps on Galea, I think he is a great player who has great skill. But I don't see him wearing a NSW jersey anytime soon. I think there are a hell of alot more capable players ahead of him. T. Smith should be banished to England or Jim Beam Cup cause he is dead set hopeless and aside from Bulgarelli is the Raiders worst player, although they don't have to worry about him any more.

2nd Row: Hodgeson, Hindmarsh v O'Neill and Laffranchi - Very tight go here. I'm gonna have to go with the Tigers. I rate Laffranchi, I rate Hindmarsh but out of O'Neill and Hodgson I think O'Neill is marginally better. So Tigers here.

Hooker: Woolford v Farah - Woolford is a proven and smart campaigned but is a hot head and I'd be looking for Withers in this spot as he is a perfect hooker. Built solid, fast runner and a bruising defender. Robbie Farah is a future star in the making. I've seen a lot of this kid and has got the skills to make a great hooker. I'd take him over the aging Woolford, but i'd take Withers over Farah as yet.

Prop: O'Hara, Weymen v Skandalis and Gibbs - Canberra. Although a very close win to Canberra. Three young props here, with Skando the proven campaigner. I havn't thus far been impressed with Bryce Gibbs, he just doesn't have anything yet. I believe this season he'll improve, but i'd much rather O'hara and Weyman. These are massive kids. O'Hara is brilliant and Michael Weyman is the future prop of Australia.

Well there we go, there is my opinion.

Its pretty even. Overall I reckon a tie.

I think the props for raiders, backrow for Tigers, fullback and wingers equal. Tigers for centres. Five-eight for Raiders, Half - even in my opinion.

So its pretty equal.[/b]

Marshall not playmaker??? He has only played a handfull games there and has been outstanding on almost every occasion! Yes he made a couple of rookie mistakes here and there but on the whole he was brillant! V Parra at Leichhardt set up two tries within the first ten, Canberra at Cambo staunch performance in the 6 setting up and scoring tries, it was in the centres that I felt he didn't play well for us this year.......

You still got our team wrong mate. Gafa and Robertson will not be there ahead of Graham and Frawley and what happened to Jason Croker?, he hasn't retired yet.... but hey whatever makes your team look better.

2. Pat Richards
3. Adam Mogg
4. Craig Frawley
5. Phil Graham
6. Jason Smith
7. Scott Prince
8. John Skandalis
9. Simon Woolford
10. Michael Weyman
11. Michael Hodgson
12. Mark O'Neill
13. Jason Croker

14. Ryan O'Hara
15. Anthony Laffranchi
16. Matt Adamson
17. Benji Marshall

I was basing my analysis on the team that Cullis gave.

if Frawley or Graham were there it still wouldn't change my mind. Cause i rated similarly anyway.

I may have altered Croker and Galea. but I think Galea is better anyway.

Cullis, looking from a Tigers perspective u think that Marshall is the answer to all your problems. He isn't, just another link in a chain. He will be sensational in 2-3 years but next year he'll struggle in my opinion. I'd love him to prove me wrong though and I'll eat humble pie if he does.

Why do you think he'll struggle?

Possibly if our forwards arent going forward.

Prince has finally gotten some consecutive game time together, that cant be bad for Marshall.
He was making stupid mistakes as most young up n coming palyers do, mistakes that with experience are erased.
Some people are expecting maybe too much, but there are also Tigers fans that dont rate him at all.

In 2 or 3 years he'll have 50+ games under his belt hopefully....we'll know then where hes up to.

Ok i'll do this again:

FULLBACK - Schifcofske v Hodgson - Maintain above - DRAW

Winger: Chalk Graham v Richards and Reick - I'll take Richards over marshall Chalk at present. I'll take Graham over Matty Reick any day of the week. Overall - RAIDERS

Centre: Mogg, Frawley v Elford and Whatuira - I'll take Waitura over Mogg, and i'd take Frawley over Elford - all in all i'd be more inclined to go for the Tigers as a package deal.

Half: Carney v Prince - Carney. Rising young star who I've had the pleasure to see play a lot. Brilliant player. My comments for Prince are same as above.

5/8th: J. Smith v Marshall - Same as before.

Lock: Croker v Galea (c) - This is a bit Closer than before. But i'd still take Galea. A little bit quicker and sharper than an aging Croker.

2nd Row: Adamson, Hindmarsh v O'Neill, Laffranchi - I'd be more inclined to go for the raiders, but I think the Tigers here as Adamson is an unknown quantity was warming the bench for Leeds at the end of this season.

Hooker: Woolford v Farah - Same as Above

Prop: O'Hara, Weymen v Skandalis and Gibbs -Same as above.

My team:
1. Hodgson
2. Richards
3. Frawley
4. Whaitura
5. Graham
6. Smith
7. Carney
8. O'Hara
9. Farah
10. Skandalis
11. Laffranchi
12. Hindmarsh
13. Galea

14. Withers
15. Weyman
16. Adamson
17. Gibbs

Thats my point. no matter what he does, so many people wont be satisfied. So many people are expecting so much of him. its too much pressure on the kid. He needs time to mature, bulk up a bit, fix a few things. in 2006-2007 I believe he'll be a superstar like i've said. But next year I feel there wont be as much Go-Forward and you've lost a bit defensively with Satts and Senter leaving. Personally I think Tim McGann is a great buy he has a heap of potential and could go into your backrow comfortably.

I think Marshall will be a superstar. there is no doubt in my mind. Cullis you can keep this thread alive if u want. I'm giving an opinion, just because it differs to yours doesn't mean its wrong.

So you keep it hot and ready rifraf. I'll have no trouble saying i'm wrong. Will you?

You really are a delight to be around aren't you? Could I have thought that because you had my quote last in your response? Get it together champ, maybe you need to hit up your old mate Boogs for some goods to keep you on your game...

Classic.

I dunno......... I believe Marshall has the maturity to be able to cope with not living up to peoples expectations, I believe he'll cope when he dont score 3 tries a game, I believe he'll cope when he is part of a team that will lose its fair share, I believe hes mature enpough to learn from the mistakes he has made and will make in the next few years, I'm sure all Sheens is hoping for is an injury free, steady season to aid in his development, and Sheens' expectations are the only ones Marshall needs to satisfy.

Thats fair enough big Mick, but i dont think you have much of a clue about Marshall. Yes hes raw, yes he has a poor tackling technique, yes at this stage he is over rated

but please dont tell me he should be in the centers, he was pretty awful in there, he is CLEARLY a playmaker, did you see the game agianst parramatta, he was brilliant and proved that he is a play maker. he is certainly not a center, centers are hard running players that hit holes, marshall is a stepy type player with great ball skills and a tidy little kicking game

He is definetly a playmaker
