what do u think is our team for next better than our 2001 (apart from the halves cause u cant replace JT)

because this is Bs last throw of the dice and as much as i like BS if this team fails to deliever then this time my friends its curtains for bs (i expect the likes of misty and co. to remeber my words and hold me to them cum next year).

so vote away if u say yes then you also agree with me in saying this is bs last chance

I voted NO!

As excited as I am there is a great deal of uncertanty surrounding a number of players.

I'll reasses the situation again at about Round 6 next year. :D

Too early to call. The '01 team had a great headstart in that we bought a half and 5/8th with plenty of experience together. It didn't take them long to get the combinations working.

Going on paper i have said yes, but this is due to the fact that in 2001, most of our players were little known and made their names that season or not expected to do well ie JT, whereas in 2005 we have proven names ie the likes of Cayless and Hindmarsh and have signed some other proven strong names.
However, names are just that .... names ... we need form and combinations to gell and get a good roll going for the season

Just thing I'll add: The 05' team probably won't win as many regular season games the '01 team, but I think has the big match experience that the '01 team lacked so once in the finals should be a real force to be reckoned with once there.

2001 side was better imo, we had better quality in the backs and Solomona at the time was the best ball playing forward in the world who set up many of our second phase play.

In saying this, i think 8-13 we are better, and if PJ is half then our halback situation will be better aswell.

If the poll had read, "Who is better on paper" I'd have voted for 2005.

But they have not yet done anything.

The 2005 squad on paper looks like the strongest Parramatta side I have seen in a long long time.

2005 on paper is awesome. This will be a true test of smiths coaching ability. There are no excuses for anything short of a top 4 team next year imo.

'01 squad was real special - a lot of the guys were "peaking" at the right time, and there was a bit of solid experience thrown into the mix, and some good energy in attack, defence and gameplans. People would consistently play to or above what was expected from them, not the reverse.

We can only hope the young guys who will feed into the 2005 squad will also peak and play out of their skins, and the energy levels improve to bring thisside even close to achieving what the 2001 squad did.

It all depends on Our halfs. If Tim Smith fulfills the expectations on him and organises the team then we are better.

The secret is in the Halfback!!
