Does anyone know if we are talking to our players coming off contract. We need to re-sign Skandalis before June 30.

Others off contract that I know:

Moodie- will probably retire
Covell- i would re-sign don't know if the club will
Senter- would wait till end of the year
Mears- release
Vaine- hopefully can get himself back into first grade
Buettner- will probably retire, if not release

Anyone else off contract?

Now I would chase a centre and a front-rower to start with. I wouldn't mind chasing Aston Simms and Justin Poore from the Dragons. They have Ryles and Bailey in front of them so maybe they will look for another club. Adam Woolnough from the knights would be a great signing too. Another player worth looking at is Paul Stringer (if fit). I'm not too sure about centres off contract

Good call on the Sims/Poore front. They both look very good and would be worth having a go at.Might get em fairly cheap too.

Im a big fan of Sims, big feller with excellent ball skills,I reckon if he continues his form he could rep.

Cheers.

Firman, Head , Orford - theres tons of halves on the market. Would I Consider one? Yes, But not as a priority.

Look at some big forwards and an outside back (Weather it a winger or a centre). Sims, Stringer, Vella, Wiki, Kennedy, Morrison - there is plenty of options.

If Moodie is to retire a winger has to be a priority. With Miles and Moodie off contract at the end of the season we need to have to sign\resign at least 2 players. I dont know if you can afford to go into the season with Richards and just one other wing. This being because you dont want Richards dodgy injury run to continue and be stuck witout him for the season.

I think buying a couple of big forwards and outside backs is pretty much on the mark.Although we have Benji and Scotty Prince in the halves,Matthew Head is a tremendous talent whom i`m sure will be chased by nearly every club in the comp!Pity we didn`t get him last year!
In the forwards old Wests boy Frank Pritchard would be an ideal pick up as would either Simms,Poore or Stringer in that order. As for the backs i`m not sure of his availability, but Ben Creagh is a superstar in the making!Apart from him there is also players like David Howell,Danny Galea,Luke Dyer and Paul Franze who I think are good enough to play 1st grade but are not regulars at their club.Joel Monaghan would be a great pick up,but he wouldn`t come cheap!Another player I like is Michael Ennis from the Knights. He is predominately a hooker but fills in just about any where for the Knights and if Senter and Mears retired he could be used in tandem with Robbie Farah!

King, the first rule in the book, never believe what you read, especially if its published by News Ltd.

Skando is vital. No but's about it. He is one player Wests need to wrap up before considering signing or retaining any others.

Frank Pritchard would be a great purchase. Being a former Magpie junior himself, he would go nicely and fit in well with the Tigers pack. There was word that Penrith might not be able to retain him either

Ashtom Sims is still under contract with the Dragons next year, as is Creagh, Firman and Howell. Poore and Head would be good pick ups for any club, however I think they'll be chased by quite a few clubs come July 1 if the Dragons haven't re-signed them.

As for players off contract I'm pretty sure these guys are off contract at the the Tigers next year. I'm not 100% sure on all and there's probably more but here's the list.

Michael Buetner, Luke Covell, Jason Moodie, Gray Viane, Darren Senter, Robert Mears, Daniel Fitzhenry, John Skandalis, Bronson Harrison, Robert Miles, Chris Heighnington
