Hello fellow forummers,

The F7s website is on the go again this year after being updated for 2006:

http://f7s.leagueunlimited.com/

The F7s ladder which is now hard wired into the backbone of LeagueUnlimited.com.

Just as before, its all updated after each round on the website, but the F7s ladder is also visible in the forums side bar. To see this, go to you User Control Panel (User CP), the link is near the top of the forum, and click on 'edit profile' - from there you can change your ladder preferences to the F7s ladder, then it show up in the forums side bar. A great innovation and thanks to whiz programmer Dilmah for coding the admin on this.

Have a look at the site each week to see how the teams and players are travelling. Naturally if you see any errors or have some suggestions, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Cheers.

Sure. Do you have the image anywhere?

P.S. same goes for all teams, if you want to change your jersey or badge, feel free to get the design and let me know.
Or you can keep what's been put up. Entirely your choice.

I've still got a bit of tweaking to do and the team lists are not competed. But you'll get the general gist.

The main development has been in the F7s ladder which is now hard wired into the backbone of LeagueUnlimited.com.

http://f7s.leagueunlimited.com updated with team pages and ladder ready to view.

With only three more rounds remaining before the semi-finals, the tussle for a top 5 spot is hotting up.

The Panthers are looking good at the top and must be short odds to take out the minor premiership. Only a complete bomb out would see them miss out on a semi-final spot.

The second-placed Eels should make the the top five but such is the tightness of the competition, they are only two losses away from potentially missing out.

The Bluebags are on eight points and are in danger of being leap-frogged. They need at least two more wins to secure a top five spot. Breathing down their necks are the Knights on seven points and a top three spot beckons.

And very close behind are the Raiders and the Rabbitohs on six points. The Raiders are currently in the top five courtesy of having made 30 posts compared to the Rabbitohs who have made 29 posts.

The Warriors on five points and the Sharks on four points are still in with a good chance. Even the Pirates on two points can make the cut if everything goes their way. The Lions however, would need a Bradbury-like effort to come back from here and appear to be playing for the pride of the Pride.

With just two rounds remaining before the semi-finals, a battle royal has developed at both ends of the ladder.

On current standings, and taking rounds 8 and 9 into consideration, no team is assured of a top five spot. The Eels and the Panthers should be OK, nothing short of a late season season collapse would deny them a spot in the semi-finals. Things are slightly precarious for the Bluebags and Knights. But overall, the top 4 teams are in control of their own destiny, and have the simple 'keep winning' equation to deal with.

table_2006_07.gif

After round 7, the Eels have slotted into top spot, dislodging the Panthers who have been the competition front runners since round 2.

The same two sides are battling it out for the minor premiership. With an extra post up their sleeves, the Eels are slightly favoured to take out top spot. But they'll first have to overcome the third-placed Bluebags next round, the Bags are also a chance to take out the minor premiership themselves.

In fourth place are the Knights. In my opinion, the Knights are one of the dark horses of this competition. By my reckoning, they are a mathematical chance to take out the minor premiership. But to do that they'll have to defeat two teams above them on the ladder in the Panthers and the Bluebags. A tough run home and if they lose, they could just as easily find themselves without a semi-final berth.

Next up is a battle for fifth spot.
Both the Raiders and Souths are equal on 8 points but the Raiders have the edge with an extra post. They have been jockeying for fifth position since round 5 and it has been great watching these two sides fight it out.
As for who will blink first, there's not much in it although the Raiders will be coming up against the Eels in the final round.
Next two matches for the Raiders:
Rnd 8 v Lions
Rnd 9 v Eels
Next two matches for Souths:
Rnd 8 v Sharks
Rnd 9 v Warriors

Still not out of it are the Warriors on 5 points and the Sharks on 4 points. Its not impossible for either side to sneak in under the radar but their chances rely heavily on what happens in other matches. Interestingly, both sides will have a crack at Souths in the next two rounds, giving them a token amount of control over their own destiny.

Another battle of sorts is looming at the bottom end of the ladder.
Its still not certain who will get the wooden spoon. The Lions have yet to record a win in 2006 and are coming last. But they have a superior post count to the Pirates who are on 2 comp points. Remember, there's still two rounds to go.
The battle for the wooden spoon could come down to the last round when the Lions play the Pirates. No one wants to end up with the spoon and I reckon both sides have something to play for. It might even end up being the F7s match of the round. :D
