I've been a Rl fan for 45 years lol, I'm just not an apologist and have never been one for wearing rose tinted glasses.
The situation in England and Sydney aren’t the same

I grew up seeing rugby league here at its best

You guys haven’t seen that yet because it hasn’t been at that level since late 94

Look how much league has grown once there’s a semi decent leader in charge who understands the games strengths

We had David gallop justifying a tv deal half of afl because they had more teams in metro areas

See under the bs you can be a big fan

England would be the next thing to focus on once they have dominated the pacific

Vegas my hopes are it just sells out and makes money and is around for the long term and that will grow league In america

I don’t think a pro us league would be viable in our lifetimes
I wouldn`t discount Africa either, some amazing things going on there and would be cheap as chips and lots of great athletes looking for a way out.

Didn't InsiderBear claim the contractual agreements would all be done mid-Jan? We'd all get lost if following his roadmap.
Only one more day, then into caretaker mode and we can all sit back and twiddle our thumbs until March. So much for Vlandys 2-3 weeks!

If it results in the govt spending an extra ten million pa purely on league juniors you won’t be complaining
lol stop plucking imaginary figures out of the air! The only extra commitments since October has been for extra schools in the SHS program and 1:1 funding agreement depending on how much the ARLC put into NRLWA extra. Oh and cost of Ken Allen training facilities which the consortium were going to cover.

pretty sure he never said that i think he said that it was in-principal agreement and then it lead to finalising particulars and then finalised contract agreement pen to paper but he also said the election time frame will spill it over due to ya know an election and that parties will have nda's on them and only tidbits of info will be released.

only tidbits have been released. if cookie is talking mou then in principal agreements must be done. sounds like ya another bitter tosser maximums.

I’m plucking figures out of my inbox

You should be happy if it’s true it’s more money for league in W.A.

“The deal with WA Government (Labor) is far along. Majority of the legal hoopla inc how the financial investment distribution of where fundings funnel into is identified ie schedules etc

*However due to the timeframe it taking negotiations going from in principal agreement to contractual agreement, its unfortunately spilled over into when WA Government (Labor)/Cook is on the official election trail“

@Perth Red believe it or not.

It’s actually funding of 12 million pa for ten years into juniors

Turns out I didn’t read it properly lol!

You shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss stuff that is positive for your club just bec you didn’t know about it first

My source has neither confirmed or denied the amount however:

'Those talks have already hit a barrier. WA government and rugby league sources with direct knowledge of the negotiations, who requested anonymity to speak freely, said the NRL had asked for approximately $12 million in annual funding for the next decade.
Sources said the NRL’s request was rejected earlier this month and a task force, led by WA treasury officials, had now been established to negotiate with the NRL.
The WA government confirmed it had rejected the NRL’s initial funding request. WA government insiders say it has no interest in pouring tens of millions of dollars of taxpayer money into what amounts to a “subsidy” for the NRL'

Late last month, Premier Roger Cook met with league chief Peter V’landys in Sydney, with reports afterwards claiming the Australian Rugby League Commission is asked WA to commit up to $500 million to funding infrastructure to secure a licence for the Western Bears.
That figure was later rubbished by the State Government.

“No numbers of that nature were discussed with the NRL,” Mr Cook told Parliament last week.

Yeh that’s all dated

If the two parties haven’t agreed on the terms by now then you can pretty much write off the team as they will shift to nz2

Tv deal negotiations need to get underway they don’t have months to waste on the W.A. govt arguing about 50 million here or there

From my source:

'The deal is almost done. Both sides have agreed what font they are going to use. They've worked out what time lunch will be. Cooko and V'landys are now just working out who gets the comfy chair, then they'll start negotiating. Everything should sorted by March 2026.'

I'll pm you the next update.
