Looking at those pictures there doesn't seem to be a crowd! particularly disappointing considering one of the teams was a 'home' team and Kazan is supposed to be one of the 'bigger' RL areas in the region.

Crowd of about 1000 seated on one side, it was pouring rain. What did you expect it is a developing sport. It gets good coverage in the media.

The poster on totalrl.com said the weather was a factor with the crowd. As said above, that Kazan website has links to articles in the press. They often get 1 or 2 a day.

Too soft nowdays in Soviet Russia - a bit of rain and they run and hide - during the great Soviet Union days you went to work/school/sport in blizzards and also stood in lines to buy things at supermarkets. i can remember many times lining up near various shops in Novosibirsk in minus 50 degrees.

what is it with today's Soviet???

Putin must bring on these reforms to make Soviet Russia strong again as well as incorporating Belarus/Ukraine/Georgia/Kazakstan etc into a New economic Union of Independant states with a central government based in Moscow with representatives from the various Oblasts in these countries.
