Send it to the NRL Q. But don't hang by your nuts waiting for anything to happen
I gather from newspaper reports before Xmas that a proposal to achieve the same ends was presented at last year's chief executives conference. The same reports said that while there was interest in the proposal they deferred a decision and plan to look at it again for the 2008 season. Also, last week there was a tidbit on the end of one newspaper article where the Broncos CEO called for derby clashed to be guaranteed every year. From those two isolated bits of news, while I wouldn't hang my nuts on it, I wouldn't totally bet against it either. It seems something along these lines is already being discussed.

We wouldn't gotten that crowd down here, but it is slightly disappointing considering recent efforts by the QLDer's.

I mentioned elsewhere - I think they've gotten complacent now the WC has been awarded to them. I'm also not sure there was much promotion.

Take the game to Sydney - do you think we would have got a better figure? (despite the huge disproportion in respective populations..)

No.

Given your previous two figures:

'06 - 44,191
'05 - 40,317

Disappointing.

Pathetic crowd Brisbane, pathetic.
I was very disappointed with that figure. I couldn't believe the empty seats on telvision. Just made me want to ring everyone down there I knew and ask them why they weren't there.

But Le Kook is still right. Dunno what the answer is, though I am sure it's not taking it back to Sydney.

THe test didnt get a mention at all, ANYWHERE until last weekend, im hardly surprised at the turnout tbh. The ARL cant just rest on their laurels and hope the Brisbane faithful turn up every year, i mean a little bit of promotion could not have hurt

Not really, heaps of big games at suncorp recently so its still pretty good. Im 100% sure we wouldnt have got that at any other stadium in Aus. Unfortunately it just doesnt have the same build up as an origin, even though it should.

No.

We could get a better figure in sydney if the ARL actually put some marketing effort into a sydney test match.

there is no reason why we cant get 50K in sydney , we simply cant expect to put on a test match at this stage and just expect people will turn up.

well next years 'Cenentary Cup' on may the 9th in sydney will be a big test.

In a perfect world the ARL should back themselves to market the game properly and have the game at Telstra so we can aim for 50K.

but im sure they will take the easy road and cross their fingers for 30K at Aussie.
