First MNF in Brisbane was it not? Somewhat of a novelty no?

Then on a clear night a month later v Parra you got what? 23,000 or something?

Fair call mate, but the thing is - there are ALWAYS Sydney people bringing up some reason why the crowd was big.

"One city team - local rivalry" for matches against the Cowboys and Titans.

"So many Saints and Dogs fan in Brisbane, that's why the crowd was so big."

"Bandwagon jumpers."

Then, a Monday night against a team with a moderate supporter base in the city and AFTER a horror start to the year for Brisbane produces almost 35,000 in the rain and AGAIN people want to make some excuse and then point to another "pathetic" crowd which was still probably about the 12th largest for the season proper.

FMD, people say Queenslanders do nothing but whinge and be arrogant

The NRL would be averaging around 14k for crowds if not for the Broncos, so if nothing else at least the crowd figures are good for the game, no?

I was there...The rain was sporadic at best that day. Compared to what I flew into the next day in Sydney, the weather was great. Conditions were worse at the matches I attended in Sydney over July. Much, much worse.

Wake up, Dodge. You'd be rapt if a Dogs crowd of 23,000 was classed as disappointing.

June was immeasurably worse than July for rain, although the inverse is true for the air temp.

I wasn't there for much of it. At least I got to see the Pasha Bulker in all its glory!

Winter's great up here. It's just a shame the summer heat has addled the brains of the natives.

Again with the NSW bashing

Last night's crowd of 27,201 was disappointing in my book and we can do much better.

Why attack NSW crowds, and instead try being positive about it. Abusing NSW fans about it won't do sh*t.

If there are 400,000 watching the games on tv in sydney. Surely you can average over 20,000 at your games. I truly believe it can happen. League in Sydney just seems stail with no hype anymore to get people to go to games. Things can improve.

Marketing's the problem.

The biggest game in a long time and the only marketing was amongst those who are already League fans who were already likely to attend regardless of any ads they saw. There needs to be more widespread advertising. It's been years since I've seen banners out in public or a really aggressive advertising campaign that actually made people take notice.

If you had a leg to stand on, I wouldn't care to bag you. Let's go to the replay...

Was that you giving it to the Qlders?

I agree. After the build-up on here, I expected a lot better but the rain certainly hasn't helped this year down there.

Sorry, what was that again? Only a couple of posts after you've bagged Brisbane for attracting ONLY 23,000? Even for you, the hypocrisy is breathtaking.

Defending the attack by the QLDer in the first place.

Either way, why keep attacking?

I wasn't aware State of Origin extended to club home crowd averages.

Seriously, the chip on the should gets larger the further North you get. The inferiority complex is least noticeable on the Gold Coast and most pronounced past the Tropic of Capricorn. ;-)

A response to the arrogance of You New South Wankers, perhaps? F*ck off if you dont like it.

We used to have tick gates at the border to keep the vermin out. They went the way of other government services and now t-ba lives up here.

I like it up here, here being the South East. But then again, people from North Queensland also have an inferiority complex about people from the South East! God showed what a good sense of humour he had when he made a place as beautiful as Queensland and then filling it with Queenslanders.

Thankfully, I'm part of the Southern Horde that's doing a better job than the Israeli's are on the West Bank. We'll soon be able to re-name Hamilton 'New Toorak' and Ipswich 'New Blacktown.' And then the hicks from up North can prattle on about how their councils with a population of 200 are being merged by filthy southerners and how they're the only real Queenslanders left.

. Did it keep the vermin in too? f**king Cane Toads. Another great initiative to combat pests from the Smart State.

I don't feel inferior for SEQers, just sorry for them. I was one too until I left my comfort zone and found how much better it is up her in the FNQ. I contend that if you could drag people kicking and screaming up here out of the SE corner, the vast majority would never go back when they saw what this place has to offer. Crowds and traffic, who needs either? Apart from the Sydney clubs that is.

First against the wall, come the revolution.

Don't associate me with anything that spewed from that moron Beattie. I was perfectly content with the Sunshine State. It's only more empty political rhetoric on his egotistical part.

Sure thing Cletus ;-). Once we're finished installing decent espresso machines and turning Brisbane into a traffic Jam, Cairns is next on the list. Get ready for a Sea Change to Cooktown.

What revolution? We'll outnumber you soon enough. And the Yokels will have migrated by then.

Can't blame Beattie for the Cane Toads...

In good news for crowds, Titans game is reportedly a sellout, again. Good stuff GC!

Weather didn't help yesterdays game and the STUPID Daily Telegraph!

I was speaking to a fellow season ticket holder last night who said his wife wouldn't let him take his kids because of the back page of the DT... CANNOT Believe them!!! I just wonder how many other people thought twice about going!

Brisbane's already just one big traffic jam. You couldn't pay me enough to live there. Peak Hour in Cairns is starting to give the sh*ts too as the city experiences growing pains, apparently without a plan to combat it in the future. And before you say it, I know it doesn't compare with Brissie, the GC or, God forbid, Sydney. We laugh at ourselves whenever we steam that PH traffic is only moving at about 50k in an 80 zone (that might last for an hour morning and afternoon), but quality of life is everything for me.

Cooktown won't be much better before too long now that the road is sealed all the way. No, I'm thinking somewhere like Tolga, near Atherton. A bit cooler, less humid and less traffic. If it wasn't for the bride and her attachment to our new granddaughter here, I'd be there now.

I didn't realise I had, so I re-read my post. And guess what? I didn't, I blamed him for The Smart State bullsh*t. Just another thing you got wrong
