Weather didn't help yesterdays game and the STUPID Daily Telegraph!

I was speaking to a fellow season ticket holder last night who said his wife wouldn't let him take his kids because of the back page of the DT... CANNOT Believe them!!! I just wonder how many other people thought twice about going!
What was on the back page of the Daily Toiletpaper?

In good news for crowds, Titans game is reportedly a sellout, again. Good stuff GC!
Agree. Can't wait till they've got their new ground next year. And Melbourne as well, I expect their crowds to lift when they move in 2009(?)

Brisbane's already just one big traffic jam. You couldn't pay me enough to live there. Peak Hour in Cairns is starting to give the sh*ts too as the city experiences growing pains, apparently without a plan to combat it in the future. And before you say it, I know it doesn't compare with Brissie, the GC or, God forbid, Sydney. We laugh at ourselves whenever we steam that PH traffic is only moving at about 50k in an 80 zone (that might last for an hour morning and afternoon), but quality of life is everything for me.

That's why they invented public transport...Travel 60km/h down the Busway.

I didn't realise I had, so I re-read my post. And guess what? I didn't, I blamed him for The Smart State bullsh*t. Just another thing you got wrong

That's because you side stepped Cane Toads sweetie ;-). You mentioned how the pests were once kept out, and I was wondering where Cane Toads fit into it. I was just kind enough not to mention that your prattling on about Beattie (A NSWelshman. We're already winning the battle ;-)) was a sidestep to the Cane toad question.

Side-stepping an irrelevancy? Yeah, you sure got me there LOL.

And, am I reading this right? You think Beattie is a New South Wanker? I'll give you this, he's stupid enough and deceitful and arrogant enough to be one, but he's from Queensland. One that I'm not proud to claim, or even acknowledge, to be sure, but we all have those. Look at NSW and you for example

If Queensland was keeping the Pests out, why did they introduce Cane Toads?

Peter Beattie is from New South Wales. raised in Queensland, but a product of New South Wales. I'm proud New South Wales produced the man that has dragged Queensland away from the 1850's values of Uncle Joh. Who was a Kiwi of course...

You are pretty hilarious though. You fit the exact profile of hicks fleeing the South East for the North because more than one car is using a stretch of road and Brisbane now has a faster pace than Keruah. I can just see you know, your porch with a bottle of bundy to the side sitting on your rocking chair polishing your shotgun mumbling about the good old days when Brisbane had thunderboxes and those bloody Southerners weren't trying to merge councils consisting purely of 78 of your second cousins.

Don't ask me to correct your lack of education. Go and look it up.

If true, that explains a lot. A prize c*ckhead.

More Beverly Hillbillies and Deliverance cliches instead of actual knowledge, huh? LOL Got anything else?

Queenslanders release a pest to combat the Cane Beetle. Good job that one...Queensland seems to have done a sh*t job of containing pests, hell, they actively imported them!

God bless him. Certainly a far sight better than the hicks that held back Queensland for most of the 20th century.

You are the living embodiment of that cliche given flesh in Northern Queensland. It's all I need ;-)

nqboy - do QLD get headlines like that before games? Or are you going to ignore the question you got answered by LebaneseForces?

LebaneseForces mentioned the APEC Riot Squad headline we got in yesterdays paper, ON GAME DAY.

Do negative headlines by the CM or BT papers ever occur on gameday that could potentially turn hundreds/thousands away like that?

We're going round in circles t-ba. As silly as you are, I'll grant that you were smart enough to move to Paradise. Other than that, you're just another illogical New South Wanker.

Dunno, Not that I notice but I'd be surprised if the CM did - they are practically a Broncos subsidiary. BT - is that the new one?

TBH, I couldn't tell you what the Back Page Headlines are, I just read the articles online.

That's because riot squads aren't required at Broncos/Cowboys/Titans games. I notice that article stated that they're at every Bulldogs home game, that's a pretty sad sign.

The Queensland clubs generally have very good off-field records and all have taken tough stances when off-field incidents have happened e.g. Cowboys with Sargent, Titans with Walker and the Broncos with Costigan and Seymour. Maybe there's a lesson to be learnt there for the Bulldogs, get tough or continue to see it as part of your club culture.

Actually sali, the cited reason was Eels fans throwing the coins last week.

But didn't the article state that they attend every Bulldogs home game? That's got nothing to do with an Eels fan throwing coins.

There's the standard riot squad which has been in place for over a year since the incident in the WT game in early 2006. No major incidents have been reported since. Surely that's a sign the 'Dogs are trying to rectify a situation?

They stepped last night up to somewhat of a training exercise for the upcoming APEC Summit, with an advanced riot squad called in after the Eels coin throwing incident.

Sure that's getting tough on the fan issue but what about your club with it's players? There's no media "conspiracy" if the players stop creating headlines. I'd like to see the Bulldogs implement a 3 strikes and your out policy, slapping players with fines or a week or two on the sidelines doesn't do anything and will never stamp some of the rubbish out of the Bulldogs club culture.

Then suggest it to them? What am I going to do about it?
