2007 GF Long Weekend

Im in Bris so this doesn't bother me but I am curious.
(Also, sorry if this has been mentioned before)

I am thinking that NSWelshmen miss out on having a long weekend for the 2007 GF. Labour Day must fall on the first Monday in Oct, in 2007 this is Oct 1st. If Rugby League follow tradition the October weekend GF will be the 7th of Oct meaning in theory they miss the long weekend of the NRL GF instead having it the weekend before.

Or will the NRL try to reschedule the season to make it the same weekend?

The NRL Grand Final has never been set for the first weekend in October. It just so happens that 6/7 calendar years it manages to fall on that first weekend. The Grand Final is always the Sunday night leading into labour day.

The 2007 NRL Premiership will kick off on March 16, be twenty-five rounds in length, and the Grand Final, as Ian said, will take place on 30 September.

Saturday - 18th birthday
Sunday - Grand Final
