Yes Roma Defended well, However that was all they did, defend. They had 0 shots on target for the match.

I would expect that from a team like Stoke, ranked 18th in England, come and park the bus play 10 behind the ball sit deep and hope like hell for a point. A team maybe 2nd best in Italy I was expecting a bit more. Anyway Roma frustrated Chelsea very well. We created next to nothing despite probably having 70-75% possession. Maybe they should be commended for this as Chelsea have dominated teams this season that have given them space.

Some would probably say Roma deserved a point because of this. However when teams come for a point from the first minute, they probably don't deserve much sympathy when the home team eventually gets the late goal. Im expecting a different game in Rome in 2 weeks, Roma will attack more and thus it will be a mych better game. Chelsea will get more chances, but also will not be able to snooze for 90 minutes in defence.

Great header by JT anyway.

You would be naive to expect anything less Eddie. We were coming off a 4-0 loss and Chelsea off a 5-0 win. We are terrible form, you guys are in excellent form.

I suppose you expected us to push forward so we could cop another 7 goal thrashing?

We defended excellently which was what we were always going to do in the circumstances.

All of what you say is true.

They did defend very well and a point would of been a great result for Roma in terms of the group.

Just a frustrating match to watch.

Watch a game right to the death and have it spoiled by cheating. I want my two hours back, Steven Gerrard. f**k you!

Not the only cheats I can single out in this year's tournament so far. Roma committed the most grievous act of cheating short of match fixing or performance enhancing drugs in their tie against Bordeaux, and are now certain to go through to the second round due to it. And I hear Chelsea scored a goal from a handball this morning.

Makes me sick, these are supposed to be professionals, paid millions of dollars for what they do and they act like children.

There are moments in a football game that make me hate the sport with a passion and one of those moments just happened in the Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid game.

There is no two ways about it but Atletico WERE ABSOLUTELY AND UTTERLY SCREWED by one of the worse penalties I have ever seen

:x

Sorry, Chelsea, I take that back. Looks a fair goal. You can carry on with pride unlike scum teams Liverpool and Roma.

Barca drawing with Basel means we go through to the last 16 because Sporting beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0.

I really want to see the Real Madrid vs Juve game. That will be a cracker.

Err, how so.

Anyway, we DESTROYED Chelsea this morning. Simply an amazing performance.

Should have been 4-0 we were denied a clear penalty just before halftime and Terry's goal was a handball. Can you say PWNED!!!!

Anyway a marvelous game, we're back baby!!!!

Err, how so.

Perrotta's Rivaldo circa 2002 world cup effort to get Henrique sent off. I am having trouble finding video with a good angle of the incident online (the only one I can find is from the back and does look bad), and I can only imagine this is how it slipped through so easily without Roma and Perrotta getting the flack it deserves. Henrique slipped his arm back fairly innocuously and didn't even connect and Perrotta went down clutching around his throat and face as if he'd been struck. Considering the circumstances, with Bordeaux 1 up and well on top, we can only assume that this had a pretty dramatic effect on Roma's eventual comfortable 3-1 victory.

A loss in that game and Roma would only be on three points now, compared to Bordeaux's 9, and very unlikely to advance. Therefore their progress in the tournament from now on must be considered tainted by cheating.

If this was as bad as you are making it out how come it wasn't even reported, not mentioned anywhere, and nobody complained about it.

You want cheating, look at Gerrard this morning. Cost your team the game.

All I know is, we destroyed Chelsea this morning. :D

And I don't know what is sweeter, watching that game or listening to the English commentators mocking us for not having possession in the early first half then having to shut the f**k up for the rest of the game and calling us lucky.

Looks like Steven Gerrard got more than he bargained for when he got that penalty.

4 yellow cards in the 90th minute all in one hit to Atletico Madrid

Really was, i was spewing when the foul was given against Pernia. Liverpool dominated the second half but Atletico deserved the three points.

that was never a penalty. That said, I'm amazed how people are calling Gerrard a cheat. He went down to a fair challenge but it was hardly a dive. Still, it's justice for the blatant hand ball by Atletico earlier in the half that the officials all seemed to miss.

Hmm. At the time I was sure it was inside but thinking back I'm not so sure. You may be right. The one I'm thinking of happened at about the 56 minute mark. I also failed to mention Liverpool's handball late in the half actually. Whichever way you slice it, we got lucky.

I'm thinking of a first half handball now that I think of it!
