Dec 07 - Panthers have released the newly re-designed 2008 home jersey for sale in time for Christmas.

The jersey which is predominantly black features rust and teal as highlights on the cuff of the sleeve and neck only. Panther claws have been etched into the the torso and shoulders. The new jersey retains SANYO as the major sponsor and Parkview at the sleeve sponsor with the new addtion of Tony Ferguson as the lower back sponsor.

Sizing is from Small to XXX Large with childrens sizes ranging from 4 to 14 . Adult sizes are $149 and Childrens $120.

Available NOW in store at the Panthers Trade Centre and Online.

There is a bigger up close shot of the shirt on the official forums. I really like it. Still hate our away one though.

Good to see a 'lower back sponsor' on there. Looking forward to seeing the 'side deltoid' 'tricept' and 'lattissimus dorsi' sponsors announced later in the pre-season.

Geez that annoys me!

Penrith were black before the Auckland/NZ Warriors...they would therefore look similar to ours whether we were all black....partially black...black with pin strips. :crazy:

I'll decide when I see it in person. From the pics it looks boring to me though.

I doubt I will get one unless it looks really different in person, because I prefer the one I already have.

I dont like the collarless round neck either, but they're all going that way now, more's the pity.

And Tony Ferguson needs to get rid of that poxy pink in the logo. Waaaay too poofie for a league jersey.

Having seen it in the flesh this thing looks Bland with a captial B. I mean honestly it looks not much different from any ond black t-shirt you can buy at $5 shop. There is nothing distinctive about this jeresey that identifies it as a penrith jersey.

One thing that could sway me is the 100 years of Rugby League patch....

Does look a bit cluttered - I would have thought that the NRL would see a way of blending the two together (like the AFL did with theirs in 1996 with their Centenary season).

But the Centenary logo is for rugby league overall - it'll be like that on all the jerseys for all competitions administed by the ARL and state bodies.

They have justifcation though - black is the national colour for its sporting teams (Kiwis, All Blacks, Black Caps, Silver Ferns, etc.), so maybe they just wanted to use it as identification themselves, and for marketing the team.

There's enough room in the NRL to have two teams with black jerseys.
