Souths could do worse than to get Isaac Luke to play the full 80 minutes this week!

From the way the team reads, it looks like he will only get 40-50mins a game again - and thats a complete joke.

Asotasi should be playing 65+ , Greenfield 55+ and Luke the full 80.

You don't have to be a first grade coach to see that anything less than that is a total f*ck up.

That Souths team looks pretty sh*t. But i still think they will scrape it in against the Panthers.

Unless ofcourse Matt Elliott actually gets rid of the dead weight this week, and gives some new blokes a chance.

Absolutely.

I've never seen a more obvious example of a team losing because of coaching errors than last Friday night when Taylor had his 4 key players sitting on the bench while the score changed from 12-0 to 20-12

Surely Taylor can't do it two weeks in a row.

A sign of desperation.

He's got the 3/4's in their right positions again which is a positive, and our forwards are still strong. But those halves are terrible.

You say that now, but wait until you see a side that reads:

6. Jamie Lyon
15: Luke Williamson
16: Mark Bryant

By a bloke whose side made the grand final last year.

You'd think if the Pamfers are a deadset football team, they'll take care of Souffs this week

I think Dessie should alter it slightly.
6. R O'Sullivan
13. S Hendry
16. J White

They could even outdo orford on cannons doubles

Round 1 - Pritchard + Williams (2nd Rower/Souths Reject)
Round 2 - Blair + Sammut (Centre/Utility back)

I'd have to agree. Although Jarrod Sammut at halfback is doing a better job then Craig Gower did the past few years. He could possibly develop into a really good halfback even.

Penrith's 1st half against us was all class in that ANZ trial match... what happened after that?

Don't take this the wrong way but I disagree on Sammut. I recon he could be one of the best fullbacks in the game, but his kicking game especially is attrocious for a half. You have halves ripping it up in lower grades. Get one of them in at 7. Honestly you could do a lot worse at this stage than to blood a real youngster- prepare for 2009/10. Why you signed Joe Williams is beyond me! Does Matt Elliot want Shane Perry as well!

I think he could be also. But we have plenty of fullbacks.

Have you seen his kicking game? He kicked a 40/20 (closer to a 30/10) in his first NRL game at halfback. Led to us getting a try off a set where Raiders kept us inside our 30. He had some very nice kicks. One of which he recovered to get a try which was then disallowed.

He has a very good boot on him IMO. Doing better then Gower did for us in 2007.

I would like to see us do that for our 5/8 jersey. Let Sammut and someone build up a partnership this year and benefit for 2009.

Your call, I still think relying on Sammut as a 7 is very risky and it takes his main strength out- broken play running. Honestly you could do a lot worse than drop Wesser, put Sammut at FB, and go from there. I'd leave Blair at 6 before Lewis comes back, and put a young guy at 7. I just don't see Sammut as a long term 7, and if he is seen as a half, I more lean towards him being a 6 not a 7, as you want your organiser at 7.
