Looking back over this years "Highlights" for us I just don't know what happened to Campese... He started this year like he ended the first then just hit the form slump of all form slumps... The problem is the team is too young (youngest in the league) for our star players to have bad games... We can survive with an average game or two but it's like he had nothing to play for since the damn SoO game...
I think Waddell can make the hooker role his own... He has shown that with a few more games under the belt he is the hooker we need, again I wouldn't mind seeing what Flannagan can offer but if that ship has already sailed so be it.
McCrone has the half back spot for mine... Agreed one of our under 20's MAY take over in the future but I don't see it happening next year baring injury/suspension/rep duty/etc.
Milne will be back in FG once he is fit again, I wouldn't mind seeing him as our utility player... That's a "position" we were lacking big time this year which Chalk filled really well last year... I think Milne could do some heavy weights training in the off season and bulk up a little with-out losing too much mobility or speed and could be a real asset off the bench in the 2nd row or to take over from a injured back, etc.
Otherwise I think our pack is pretty damn good... We just need some consistancy... WLWLWL for the end of the season so if we can get a team working well as a unit and keep them together I think we are in for a massive season next year...
That and fix whatever is wrong with Campese... I still think he easily has what it takes to be one of the best 5/8's we have ever had but he needs to get whatever is holding him back locked away before then...
