:p you!

user, sorry that I have to be a nark but you're not supposed to edit other members quote. Not even for the sake of banter. Forum guidelines etc.

Kinda silly..
I shall edit it. Wouldn't want someone think you would write a terrible thing like that.

I would have Thaiday and Glenn before Parker.
Parker comes across as an individual.
During the third state of origin camp, one of the reporters asked him what he thought of Taylor's tackle.
His reply was something like he probably deserves a few weeks.
He didn't even try to stick up for Taylor.
Reminds me a lot of Hindmarsh in that way.

Parker for me ... he's up to the challenge and it sends a message to everyone a the club ... if you put in the hard yards you'll be rewarded.

Civ doesn't need to be captain. He'll lead anyway.

Thaiday ... captaincy may blunt his sense of humour and easy going ways ... which the teams needs just as much as anything.

Glenn is too young.

Petero would be a good captain, but maybe only has one year left. We need a long term captain.

Parker probably deserves it, and his bad record is not really his fault. Lots of his games as captain have been with the Baby Broncs.

Thaiday could go either way, IMO, which is why I think I prefer Parker at this stage.

Glenn is the future, and we are only talking about next year at this stage.

Good post. That pretty much sums it up for me.

I think Glenn would be a good option for vice captain. IF Parker gets the captaincy, I don't see much point in making Thaiday, Civo or Hodgo vice, because normally the only time we need our vice captain is during origin, and all of those players will be playing origin anyway, where as Glenn will always be there for the club. But then again Parkers origin career isn't as secure as Thaiday, Civo and Hodgo who are all certainties.

Like you said, Civo doesn't need to be captain, he will lead anyway. Plus our senior players like Thaiday and Hodges already do a good job of being leaders without the (C) next to their name.

At first Mannering was a bit of a twinkie QUOTE]

exactly

Looks like Civo doesn't want to captain.

f**k him then!!! make him captain :fist:

Personally i'd go for Parker. we dont see what he's like at training or around the other guys but he's obviously a good enough influence to be veiewed in this eladership role for some time

when locky first became captain i know players on other teams said they thought he seemed pretty quiet. i know Parker is older but the "style" of captaincy is different for everyone and if Bennett had been worried Locky was too "quiet" and given it to someone else locky may not have developed into the leader he is

I am going to say give it to Glenn now. It's the perfect time to have a young captain, in his first full year as captain he'll have Peter, parker, thaiday and hodges to back him up.

I'm thinking Glenn. He will have a lot of senior players in the locker room so his transition should be easier. Their support will make his job easier than trying to lead a pack of pups.

Don't think parker inspires, petro getting it would disappoint other senior players who remained at the club, but well worthy.

How do you guys view Andrew McCullough? Seems to be becoming more consistent and taking the bull by the horns. A season or two down the line he may have been in with a shout of the captaincy as well.

Looks like Glenn will be it. Anyone else feel a little dirty that it won't be a Qldr?

Not even an Australian!

I agree McCullough has potential too. He just needs to improve his game (which he is atm) and then he will develop leadership qualities.

The captaincy is about more than who's the best player. Corey Parker is
thought of in such high regard at the club i would be amazed if he wasnt captain next year. And rightly so.
