Who will be a member next year?

Broncos are pushing for more and more members with a bold plan to get us to AFL levels. I'm loving what Paul White is doing for the club...

2012 will be my 5th year as a member.

Die hard corner seats are the best value for money, the view from the second tier is awesome.

Such as?

Something to actually entice fans to make the upgrade from average spectators to season ticket holders?

I was a season ticket holder for four years and there really weren't a lot of perks, other than being guaranteed seats to the best stadium in town. In the end though, the amount of Friday games we got was ridiculous and started becoming an issue.

there is pretty much crap all in the memberships for the fans, besides seats, plus who ever runs the facebook for the Broncos can change their attitude... wanker

Well, it's all about attitude isn't it?
That's what I don't get, what else besides supporting your club and having guaranteed seats in the stadium cheaper than if you bought them individually, would you want?
You actually get a few thingies like a key holder, a flag, lanyard, etc... But that's really not why I do it.

It may also be because I'm from Europe where getting a ticketed membership (for a major soccer club) is a privilege!

I'd say so.

The NRL isn't close to matching the aura that those soccer clubs generate which is why it's paramount to entice fans to become members and develop a culture of attending games. Giving them lanyards and crap at the start of the season isn't anywhere near enough.

Not that I'm discouraging anyone from signing up. If you really want to support the club then definitely consider becoming a member.

Nah, it's the fact that without a membership it's really hard to attend any of your club's games nowadays. Man Utd waiting list for Old Trafford is 7 years...

The mentality that your club should bend over backwards to attract new members is at the very least obtuse. But I guess your last sentence says it all...

Why?

Giving somebody money for the sake of it seems silly to me.

Hmm, odd. My last sentence was supposed to have the important preface of - if you have the cash.

Really, you're going with that?
You are not giving money to somebody, you're paying for a service and/or you're supporting your club, which in my opinion is a very different thing.

If you're interested to attend all games (like myself), purchase a fully ticketed membership. If you're only interested in attending the blockbusters, get a awesome foursome, and if you only want to support the club, get a non ticketed membership. All of them are cheaper than buying the standalone tickets and include the rest of the perks that come with the membership. Pretty simple tbh...

The premise is that you only pay what you can afford obviously, but I think pretty much everyone can afford $33 for a year, which entitles them to a 2 for 1 ticket offer for one game of the season, plus the usual Broncos magazine, Leagues club membership, member mail, and other small perks.

If you don't think the club is worth any of the above, the question that remains to be asked is whether you support the Broncos or want them to support you?

Support isn't just limited to hand outs. I don't expect mates to ask for hand outs and I shouldn't expect the same from my club.

If their membership packages don't interest me then I'm not going to invest. Simple.

Hand outs? How is any of the Broncos memberships a hand out?

If your mates sell you something cheaper than you can get it at any shop, are you gonna ask them for an "incentive" to buy from them?

I just told you, the package itself doesn't interest me. A lanyard, magazine, cap, flag? I don't care for any of it.

It's an NRL club membership, you get tickets for the game at a discounted price (it means you pay less than buying standalone tickets), which last time I checked, is what you pay for; and you get those extras (it means they're thrown in for free) as a nice gesture from the club.

You're either interested in going to Broncos games and supporting the club, or not. If not, then a membership is not for you. If you want to go to games, but would like the club to pay for half your ticket, food, drinks and throw in a Broncos jersey for good measure, then a membership is also not for you, which is a good thing actually, because the NRL clubs could do without leeches...

You still haven't answered what else you would want from a membership package?

I'd like to see more member recognition. I'd like to see more rewards offered for attending games and for more opportunities for the members and the players to interact. Look at what the Bulldogs are doing with the members only game. I'd like to see similar innovations introduced at the Broncos. I don't expect them to come in and take the trash out for me but let's make the Broncos membership actually mean something and make you feel apart of the club.

At the moment it's a discount for attending games and some nick nacks that I already have 4 copies of.

As an aside, how long have they had these Fanatics and Diehard support groups? Is this the first or second year?

Die hard has been around since 09 and XXXX Fanatics is making a comeback from 08 I think.

Ive always wanted our own supporters section even if its a cheesy sponsored one.

I thought XXXX fanatics ceased to exist much earlier than that...2006 perhaps. Either way, I'm happy to see a supporters bay introduced. It's something the Broncos truly lack, a passionate group of home supporters cheering and chanting the entire game away and add colour to an otherwise boring crowd.

The bold part is what a membership should be about imo.

I like the idea of a members only game too, but can't see too many other ways of promoting more interaction with the players for 30 or 40.000 people than the open days and some other events which members actually do get access to.

The rest should privileges for existing members (like being able to get Origin tickets) and possibly rewards for loyalty and longevity, such as 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 years membership rewards, etc...

But what a membership should be about too, is supporting the club, but that doesn't seem to be important at all for you...?
