Jeez talk about the stars aligning.

*League owned Hornets veto three way deal for Paul
*Franchise player traded away.
*New owner just shelled out $338 million to keep team in NO
*Team gets No.1 pick to rejuvinate franchise.

While it's probably not rigged, people were joking at the start of the season that Stern would make sure the Hornets won the draft after everything that went down

Knicks get Ewing.
Cavs get local boy Lebron.
Bulls get local boy Rose.
Cavs get the #1 again right after Lebron leaves them.
The NBA owned team gets the #1.

A lot of convenient coincidences over the years.

Anthony Davis is a lock for first. He is one ugly mofo but from everything I've seen and read the kid is legit.

Nets also lost out big. Have to give their pick (No.6) to the Blazers as per the Wallace trade.

There was alot of talk that if they could get No.1, they'd flip it Dwight.

If it was rigged then the Nets would have got #1.

The Hornets had just as good of a chance as the Bobcats and Wizards.

Was really hoping the Cav's would win it.

Having a base of
PG - Irving
PF - Varajao
C - Davis
6th Man - Thompson

Would have been awesome

Put me in the unconvinced category. No doubt he'll come in a block shots and rebound but the guy is paper thin and the track record for 7 foot stringbeans ain't great.

Generally NBA bigs grow close to a foot in 12 months at one point during puberty. He went from 6'1 to 6'10 in one year in high school. It takes a long time for muscle mass to catch up to that.

In terms of body type he reminds me of Kevin Durant. He has very similar height and weight numbers. Durant is handling himself against NBA battle hardened forwards.

The dude is a former Point Guard and grew massively in a year. End of the day he'll hit the gym hard and eventually the mass will come. But the fact is that he has room to grow in that frame and an NBA strength and conditioning staff will ensure that happens while maintaining his athletic ability.

This isn't far off now. Davis the consensus #1 but after him there's a lot of debate.

I heard a quote the other day saying Meyers Leonard (a white 7'1 guy) was so impressive in the combine that he would be the consensus #2 pick if he was black. He's likely to go between #8 and #12.

Lots of question marks after the first pick, it should be fascinating to see how teams go.

Minnesota has agreed to trade the 18th overall pick in Thursday's draft to Houston for Chase Budinger, league sources tell Y! Sports.

The Rockets own the 14th, 16th and 18th picks in Thursday's draft. They want to make an offer that Orlando can't refuse for Dwight Howard.
