Pretty obvious why that's the case though. Every other club will have the same problem.

Yeah every team has a logjam of players contracts for 2012 because that is before the rights go up and means a potentially significant salary cap increase by 2013. Players want a piece of the pie.

Dugan isn't off contract 2012.... He was always signed for us next year and extended one MORE year after that... Meaning he is contracted until the end of 2013.

Also it's not going to be such a big issue if we do well for the rest of this year and next... Success means people will want to stay and, should the local business in Canberra actually start to support the side, they will be better off in a one team town then they would be in Sydney at least...

On the plus side the IC should have made new salary cap rules by then and I'm hoping for big changes in the "home grown" consessions... Which could see us able to retain a LOT more players as we actually do junior development...

no big deal, we expected this as we wait for the pay increase to hit the players from the tv rights.

I am sure we will lose some guys, but if history teaches us anything it is that no matter who goes, there will be someone waiting to replace them.
