2013 - What were you right & wrong about?

Just a thread so you can put down what you thought pre-season and whether it matched your expectation or not.

1) James Harden - So, so, so wrong. So Wrong. THE END.

2) Lakers - Thought they'd be a lot better. Sure injuries hurt them but the whole team looked off.

3) Teams that would trouble the Heat - All year I'd thought the Pacers, Griz and Spurs would be the teams to combat the Heat and give them the most trouble and that for the most party came to fruition.

How did you go with your predictions? What statements did you make you wish you could take back upon the evidence being provided?

I was right about everything :sarcasm:.

1) Wrong - Lakers. Thought they'd be better, but I can't be too critical given that the team was decimated with injuries

2) Wrong - KD winning the MVP - Thought he was a lock for it post-Harden trade. Then the Heat 27 win streak happened.

3) Wrong - Hibbert being a bad contract. Have never really been a fan of his (found him to be too inconsistent) and I thought his play would tail off after getting his big contract last off-season. Was looking right at the start of the season, but he really turned it on in the playoffs.

Wrongs
1 - Lakers.. Nash, Kobe, Metta, Pau, Dwight.. what an awesome array of talent for such a horrible year..
To be honest.. im glad im wrong.. Ive always loved Kobe.. but he's won 5.. time for someone else to win some. I would have loved to seen Dwight go to Brooklyn.

2 - Knicks - I expected a Heat vs Knicks playoff series for Eastern Conf. Although NY did have a good season.

3 - Carmello winning MVP. He had an outstanding season.. but James did have a better season.

Right:
1- Nothing.. I guess that's what made this season so enjoyable, unpredictable. Great season. Maybe the Best NBA season ive experienced.

Just came to me, probably the biggest thing I was wrong about (and a lot of people were) - That Orlando got screwed in the Dwight trade while everyone else did well.

Well as it turned out, Bynum missed the whole season for Philly, Iggy opted out of his contract with the Nuggets (free agent this off-season) and Dwight may leave the Lakers. Meanwhile Orlando acquired some nice young assets in the trade and have a high draft pick this year.

I was right about a Spurs vs Heat finals
I did not think Harden would have as good a season as he did
I totally over estimated how well the Lakers would do (as did everyone I guess)
I wrongly predicted the Timberwolves to greatly improve and make the playoffs

Another thing I was wrong about. I thought the Rockets were smart for offering Lin the contract that they did, but would end up regretting the Asik contract. I liked Asik defensively but he was just horrendous on offense. Had rock hands.

Well in reality it's pretty much the opposite. Asik is awesome value, while Lin atm is a backup. I guess I just bought into Linsanity too much  .

As a Clippers fan, it saddens me to know I was right about Vinny Del Negro not having the tactical nouse to sustain the type of playoff run the season deserved. Some of his decisions just beggar belief.

An example from, I think it was the final game of the series. We're down, obviously it's win or go home. Matt Barnes goes off in the second quarter, from memory he scored about 18 points and looked to be inspiring a comeback. Del Negro then leaves him on the bench for all but the last minute of the third quarter. Thank God he's gone.

I was wrong about the Rudy Gay trade. I thought Memphis would regret it, but it worked out beautifully for them.
