As for the flaw bit, I expect Terry, Scholes, Ferdinand, Giggs, Lamps, Ash Cole will/were afforded the same respect by the average scouser?

Anyway on more important matters just two weeks after claiming they're going to win the title, Arsenal are on the verge of finishing fourth. Again.

Gerrard just has an enormous ego, and he loves feeding it via the liverpool fans. Shame it's got in the way of him remaining at the club. Because he refuses to gracefully accept a reduced role.

We'll be better for him leaving the way he has played this season

I disagree with you Nick, I think that 30 seconds represented a compliment to the man. It is not afforded many players by fans of the opponents. That applause was an olive branch, a recognition, a wink to the unreasonably harsh nature of his constant barracking by Chelsea fans, a nod to his achievements and a goodbye to an adversary. It was an attempt to say, " we have bagged you off, but that is the nature of opposition; take our respect with you."

I don't have an issue with those that did give him an applause at the game, if I was there maybe I would have too.

As for the celebrations, there was plenty of that too.

Chelsea fans initially jeered him off, and if it weren't for Mourinho they would have continued the jeering.

None of those players had an opportunity for a send off at Anfield. The only guy out of all those players that Liverpool fans have given constant stick to is Terry, but nowhere near the level Gerrard gets from your mob. So if Terry made a substitution in one of his final games at Anfield then I'm sure he'd get a standing ovation. As for Lamps, Liverpool fans have never been hostile towards him.

Disappointing to lose but everything is still in our hands. We don't even need to win against United to get 3rd.

Finishing top 3 (ideally 2nd) and the cup is still looking likely.

I don't think United will go pass Arsenal, but f**k it will be funny if it happens. Also Villa are gonna push the Gunners shit in in the FA Cup.

We should have already been passed them. Absolutely no excuse for the way we phoned it in against Everton and West Brom. 4th and having to play a qualifier is precisely what we deserve for our overall efforts this season.

Arsenal will not finish 2nd. City have them on goal difference and a favourable last 3 games. Blew the title challenge, and will finish fourth, again. Can't wait until Villa beat them in the FA Cup final and they sook for another summer.

Watching 2 adults fighting over Gerrard v the mob and the guard of honour. Bloody hell.

Who ever said it should happen was an idiot. I would have told Chelsea to f**k off. They are a vile scumbag club who cant keep quiet for a minutes silence and sing songs about Hillsborough.

They still have another game at home where they will be present theirs medals and trophy, let them have their honour at that game.

As for the round of applaus for Gerrard, spare me. It wasn't needed. They should have continued the boo's and handed him a laminated sign on the way out.

 I love when scouse fans can't help but mention Hillsborough in random unrelated conversations, while their supporters still sing Munich songs, defend Michael Shields and throw excrement and piss on away fans.

Nobody asked your mob to do it, blame Brendo. For a bit of context though, look up what said vile club did at Anfield in 1966 (yeah I know you're surprised we existed back then).

Shit is a point of view...

A few seasons ago they finished 8th, with no hope of a title in the foreseeable future, and I've still stuck with them. But now you've put me in a situation where I'm forced to support them if they get relegate, so I can prove my undying support. FFS Haff!
