Was really surprised at how off the pace Chelsea looked Haff. Any idea on why JT was taken off at halftime?

They've been off pace all off season. We are another Fabregas short and probably need that extra striker which we needed to close out last season.

Think JT was pulled because Aguero had him beat for pace. Despite conceding those 2 goals I think we looked good with Gaz and Zouma in the centre. The city changes opened us up again.

Watching the City v Chelsea replay. Those 8000 extra voices really make a difference to the noise level...

Rodgers selecting an unchanged line up ffs. How Emre Can isn't starting I'll never know, Lallana starting wide again does nothing for our side as well.

Big Ben off the mark and equalling Mario's EPL goal tally of last season.

Bournemouth unlucky tho, should've been ruled out for offside.

1-0 to LFC. Think we were very fortunate to take all 3 points. Goal that shouldn't have stood and to be fair Bournemouth outplayed us IMO.

They didn't out play us but it wasn't a pretty win.

3 points is 3 points. Gives us momentum in the early stages of the season. Very important to get as many points before the first International break.

Yeah you're right mate, outplayed is definitely the wrong description. I just thought they really came at us a lot in that game and a draw would have been fair result if it happened.

We really need to work out what midfield combination works for us. Early days tho and as you say CB, 3 points is 3 points. Thought Big Ben showed some lovely touches as well.

Have to say I am so pleased with Clyne and Gomez as our LB and RB. Had reservations about Clyne as I wasn't sure if the Saints defensive systems made him look better like it did with Lovren, but he has been outstanding in our first 2 games. Gomez has made the odd little error by he is so much more composed defensively than Moreno.

Thing about Gomez is he actually seems to care more about defending than Moreno does. He's also more composed on the ball.

I was impressed by benteke, he played well and it's great that he scored, despite the offside.

Ibe was a bit average but he's young, so meh.

Overall, we were better than last week but still not pretty.

How does Manchester United manage to spend 300 million in 12 months and still have so many flaws in their squad.

Just catching up on last nights games.

Good win by Bournemouth snatching a win against fellow relegation battlers

because Fergie left their squad in a mess

Which would have been a fair point as late as the start of the 2014 summer. But LVG has had 3 windows and 300 million pounds. He is very thin at cb and striker. Wayne Rooney looks cooked as a striker, his best position is now in the midfield which is the one place they have quality.

300 million pounds and nothing world class up front or at the back. That is a serious problem in decision making.

The two garbage managers that have followed have contributed sure, but that squad was old and full of holes.

They lack genuine leadership.

Yeah but still, when you spend 300 million, you'd expect that the squad's more obvious needs would be met 2 seasons after Fergie is gone...

LVG fixed one of their problem areas which is the midfield. Might not sort out the striker position this window but I bet come January something will be done.

Moyes should have punted Ferdinand he was a cancer and undermined him from the start. His form at QPR proved that.

If they'd have fixed their defence straight away they'd be in a better position.
