Tomic goes down. He never broke serve once. Frustrating to watch.

Credit to Muller though very hard serve to read. Muller 1st serve percentage was very high at 80.

At least Tomic didn't give up he seemed to have an improved attitude and stayed calm on court.

If he can get a favourable draw he could make it to Round 3 or 4.

If they hadn't won in 5 months they wouldn't be 11th and 13th in the world.

Like Azarenka who hasn't won because she has been injured and she is now 40th in rankings.

They both had no points to defend in the back end of last year. If you knew tennis, you would know that it is all about defending points. Azarenka has dropped points from the previous years. She was defending her win in Brisbane, lost first round, thats 500 points right there.

Jamila MIGHT win a match, but thats it, she barely has a brain on the court.

Tomic is awful against big servers, he has a shocking return game. It is the reason and I have said it over and over again...he'll never be a top 10 player.

On the positive backed Muller at $3.50 for a nice $350 collect payday, so thanks Tomic, the gift that keeps giving!

The final score of 7-6 7-6 is not an accurate reflection of the game. Muller was clearly playing a class above Tomic.

Tomic is simply not good enough to be a top ten player. I have serious doubts that he'd reach top 20.
When you look at the guys that are top 20, ALL of them are deadly serious with their dedication....some to the point of being a maniac. Tomic just does not have that drive for me.

He has the talent but not the commitment. He's peek is world #27. you see, a lot of the older players in the ranks will start to fall in the rankings, and he can climb into the top 20 with that... however he needs to start the commitment NOW.

Last night he showed signs of how talented he is, but the first thing he needs to do is BREAK SERVE. He can't afford to rely on his opponent to make errors, because that's not what top 20 players do!

Actually it was, two absolute lugs on return. Tomic for all his greatness can't hit a return to save his life against a big serve.

Might hit the top 20, but thats about it. Kyrios is the one that is a future Slam winner, has the game, good return. Needs to work on movement but thats easier to fix than being a good returner. Tomic, well everyone praised him last night...I didn't see it. Was lazy out there, lug his way to a TB and hope Muller misses...he didn't, Tomic lost. Usual.

Decent draw from the Australians though, Tomic has a good 3 rounds before a 4th round with Rafa

He won't make it past the 2nd round, 2017 Aus open is when we will be in Action, i predict 2 Aussies in the final 8 for that year.

Yeah Tomic isn't the aggressor enough on court. He is content to hit it in the middle of court not go for his shots and the lines enough.

When he is returning serve and down 30-0 he has a habit of not digging in and gives his opponent an easy game.

He needs to learn to play every point and not throw the towel in.

Tomic wasn't lazy actually. He played better than usual and I watched the whole match.

He was more committed with his movement too. He still needs to improve a lot though.

He just couldn't read the serve of Muller.

Predictions

Mens champion: I have to go with Novak here...he is the best player in the world atm. I think only Federer can give him a huge fright.

Bolter (player outside the top ten): I'll go with Mr Unpredictable (Gael Monfils)...he had a good davis cup.

Ladies champion: Maria Sharapova. I cannot help but feel that Serena will be taken down early.

Bolter (player outside the top ten):pLISKOVA, KAROLINA. Extremely impressed with her. I think she can go very deep here.
