Missing Fish, Fusitua and Tompkins has hurt. There's not really a lot of speed left other than Johnson

Yeah, but the thing is none of those 3 would do a thing defensively (the first 2 especially).

Nines is for the fleet-footed dynamic players (on both attack and defense). Aside from SJ (and the three you mentioned in attack only) the Warriors really don't have that.

Cowboys won last year with some top notch defense. Nines is primarily marketed as being about the Benjis and SJ's. Defence is undervalued and it's importance is underestimated. Can't see the Warriors winning this year for that reason

Even though the promoters, officials, referees and other teams are all conspiring for us to win in order to win my patronage of the game.

Cornish must be gutted he threw that pass. Total departure from the script.

Great defense yes, but also most teams were completely spent in attack by the time the semi's came. Will be interesting to see how the scorelines look this year with the extended squads.

Still picking Eels to take it all.

Seems the sideline is no impediment for the Warriors, being awarded not one but two tries despite the ball carrier going out before grounding the ball.

Interesting.
