The play followed him, and he realised that making any movement that late would create issues so he planted his feet.

He was in place long enough that the defence have time the account for him. He has to be on the field, he can't disappear.

It's unfortunate, but I don't think it was costly.

If anything TMM could have adjusted his line and had a better shot at JAC

Not how I saw it. Ref was avoiding some diving Cowboy who missed a tackle, that avoidance meant TMM smacked straight into his shoulder. Ref moved.
