2017 Jerseys, Logos, Sponsor Discussion

Yeh I agree asthetically but from a corporate interest in the sport point of view it's not a great look. My fave jerseys are the heritage ones with no sponsors, I rarely buy one these days as they look like billboards

Yep. I remember that the Socceroos had a lot of trouble finding a sponsor even after their Asian Cup win and the generally higher profile they have. If they have trouble we really can't expect much with how infrequent our test matches are. Maybe that'll change during the WC or possible Kangaroo tours but I hope not, I think the cleaner jersey outweighs almost any amount of cash we'd receive for it. Makes it something special.

Maybe that's an angle to be pursued, if possible. A naming rights sponsor, who gets their logo on the training gear etc but not on the jersey?

It's funny that people still don't get that the Nines is a chance for clubs to experiment with jersey designs and have a bit of fun with them.

Oh we get it. That doesn't excuse some of the tripe that gets dished up.

I know the dollar rules everything in professional sport these days but I love the clean Kangaroos Jersey and would avoid changing it.

I'd like to see the Kangaroos with a sleeve sponsor or back of jersey sponsor but keep the front clean. To me there is something tacky about a national side with a major sponsor, yes I know it's the day and age we live in where the dollar is king but still it was refreshing to see the 4 Nations Roos jersey with VB or Holden on the front.

Changing the subject a little. This is the Indigenous All Stars 2017 jersey, shorts and training gear! They have switched to ISC. I think it looks great!

It's refreshing to see anything without VB on the front. I'd never buy another NSW jersey as long as they have anything on it.

Probably a good opportunity for indigenous input on the design, new artist each year perhaps?

Although i loved the orange, I really like that the new Indigenous All Stars jersey is mostly blue. It's a bit of a change that makes the jersey look very classy imo.

Since the Indigenous have switched to ISC, I guess that means the World All Stars will as well.

You're not wrong. It seems more and more teams are going with ISC as well.
