Yep.

Queensland jersey is the same design. Only changes are The Star Gold Coast as lower back sponsor and the main sponsor on the front is still Suncorp, however it is just the lettering instead of the lettering and the logo.

i wouldnt speak to soon about going back to Auckland (all though i am a nerd for keeping the auckland name and have never called them NZ.....)
in the new netball league there is the QLD firebirds, AND the sunshine coast lightning....

Now that's interesting. Notice in this picture above it is only the actual collar that is gold, in the reveal video it had that seam under the collar coloured gold same as last year like this:



It's the same situation on the back of the jersey. Personally, I hope they still have this gold part under the collar and I think they will because that is what appeared in the reveal video.

Yeah that doesn't make sense either. How can you have the Qld firebirdds - representing the state - then another team from within that state? Having a team called the New Zealand Warriors, then having the New Zealand Kiwis test team just irks me. I could live with them being called the North Island Warriors (but would prefer Auckland).

Would rather the Gold trim/collar was white. Other than that - still a great jersey. NSW needs to piss classic off quick smart.

I wonder how much Suncorp paid to have their logo 'refreshed'.

Anyway, once again Canterbury and the QRL get it right. Sponsor logos are integrated, jersey is clean and distinctly Queensland, however has small enough 'tweaks' to be classified as a new jersey.

Classic and the NSWRL could learn a lot.

I remember back in 97 I could have purchased this Rest of the World jersey for my collection... And even to this day I regret I didn't buy it. Its like the Holy Grail of rugby leagye jerseys for me.

'97 was a bad time for a lot of things. Plenty of regrets. I feel your pain. I'm more of a cricket jersey collector and wished I'd always ponied up the cash for the two touring team's WSC shirts from 1990 until 1997/98. Grrr...
