So in the space of about 3 months they have turned Oladipo, Sebonis, Kanter & McDermott and a 2nd rounder into PG and Melo.

Sam Presti is a motherf**king wizard...

Maybe... I'm an OKC fan but frankly I don't like Melo to OKC. He's on a severe downwards slope at this stage of his career. Kanter is an underrated player and Adams aside I think we lack for size inside defensively and on the glass.

They needed to be rid of Kanter as soon as they paid Adams.... that was far too much money to have tied up in what was effectively a backup centre.

At least they have that money tied up in a real area of need(scoring) now instead of what was really a luxury(a good back up big man).

Now they really need to fill out the bench with quality vets at maybe the minimum...

I wonder if they could get Dwayne Wade at the minimum.

Wade getting a buyout makes it interesting.

Personally I'd prefer to see him in Houston with CP3 and Harden.

OKC' s starting 5 is locked at WB, PG, Melo, Adams & Robo. Bench looks suspect though - if Wade was open to coming off the bench....that could change things... a lot...

Could you imagine Wade off the bench...

They have to gel though...

they also got Patrick Patterson as well this offseason...

Yeah, they've improved the bench a little bit from last year (not that that's saying much). Patterson, Felton (who is nothing special but an improvement on what they were running with).

Wade seems close to a lock to go to Cleveland.

DWade has reportedly signed a 1 year / $2.3M deal with the Cavs. They are looking pretty stacked at the moment.
I'm assuming their starting line up would be;

1. IT
2. Rose / Wade
3. LBJ
4. Love
5. Thompson

The Cavs bench is also looking very healthy, I'm thinking they may offload a few before the season starts.

6. Wade / Rose
7. Jae Crowder
8. Kyle Korver
9. JR Smith
10. Shumpert
11. Jose Cauldron
12. Channing Frye

Yeah they're stacked but not stacked with players in their prime.

That list looks like a retirement village.

Who are the retirement village players? Rose, Korver and maybe Wade? They're paying like $12m for those 3 combined....hardly a retirement village.

Actually now that I think about it, you could throw Jefferson and Calderon into that pile as well. Probably an older squad than most.

Damn.... Wade coming off the Thunder bench could have been crazy...

Interesting seeing the reaction to the Melo trade... a lot of experts just brushing OKC off saying they are still only 3rd/4th seed in west.

And likely wouldn't get past 5 games in a series with GS.

That seems crazy IMO... I know they have to gel... but I think they are a solid 2 seed.

And If they can come together as we hope... I think they can take the Warriors.

And the big 3 isn't the reason... I think it's Adams.

Kiwi bias aside... Draymond couldn't even go close to handling him in the paint in that play off series 2 years ago he's just too big and athletic for him.

I think the 5 is the weaknesses for the Warriors.

If you can force Draymond to play against a big athletic centre I think he struggles to handle them.

TBH... if im Presti I'd look at seeing if the pelicans would be willing to trade Adams for Cousins.

Go all out this year and if they all leave... you clear pretty much all that cap space.

And can rebuild straight away.

Dont forget JR is 32.. will be 33 next year...

IT and Love are "broken" for lack of a better word.

However a side from Boston theres no one else in the East so almost a lock for the final unless they somehow screw up...

They need to gel quickly though. Usually takes a good season or two for players click and build that chemistry on court.

Wish OKC well. Its going to be one hell of a season thats for sure!

My concern over OKC all depends if they can gel or not. If they just decide to play hero ball all season then they won't be a genuine title treat IMO. They have bags of talent to go deep in the West but I think they will get found out against GSW, Spurs and possibly even Houston.

Agreed with Adams, I think he is going to have a great year playing off these guys. He should get plenty of open looks under the basket and stacks of boards. And now that Kanter has gone to NY he will have a many minutes as he can handle.

I'm not liking these Super Teams that are forming but it will be good to see some other teams in contention for the title of than GSW and Cavs.
