2017 NFL Draft

Myles Garret asking the Cowboys to use Romo as part of a trade to get to the number 1 spot.

Also said he would prefer to not go to a cold weather city.

Won't be attending the draft (for good reasons though)

Something tells me he doesn't want to go to the Browns.

I don't see it happening. Cleveland would be stupid to give their #1 overall pick for just the Cowboys 28th pick in the first round and an injury riddled 36 year old Romo. Dallas have a limited number of selections in this years draft and I don't see them giving any extra choices away to make the possible trade more interesting.

Zero chance of it happening imo and i wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit tongue in cheek. The guy is a Cowboys fan, no harm in that, but most players don't go to their favourite team and once contracts come up it's all about the money anyway.

Still funny though.

Haha it's going to be great when he gets drafted to the Browns

I'm really excited for this years draft.
I'm at a point where I'm only top 20-25 deep right now and it looks f'ing loaded

So many good players in this draft imo

He needs to get some Laremy Tunsil-esque videos out there if he wants to get to the Cowboys, maybe a low range DUI or something too as a kicker.

I reckon the Patriots are going to be picking in the top 15 of the first...

Someone high will make a jump at Jimmy G.

I think the Browns will go with #12 and maybe a 3rd.

And if that's the case I reckon the 49ers will be the only chance for anyone to jump ahead of them... as they have #2 and Shanahan is a fan...

IMO... I'd much rather roll the dice with Jimmy G than with anyone of the QBs in this draft.

That would leave Brissett as their qb of the future

I think considering Brady is talking like he's got another 5 seasons left in him...

They were going to find it almost impossible to keep Jimmy G beyond next season.

Bill could pull the ultimate Patriots move and trade Brady....

Brady finishing his career with his childhood team the 49ers would be interesting...

Even if Bill wanted to do it... I doubt Kraft would let it happen...

Like any player, especially one of his age he is only one injury away from the end of his career.

It wouldnt at all shock me to see Jimmy G still at the Pats this time next year and heading into FA, but count me into the group who thinks the Pats will move him.

They won a game with Brisket, they seem happy enough with him, they've got control of his for a few more years yet. And Brady looks like he's got at least 2 more years, in which case they'll lose Jimmy for nothing.

I dont know where he's going to land, but as others have said, id sooner roll the dice with him over any guys in this draft, but ultimately im not sure Jimmy G is a legit franchise QB. It'll be interesting to see what happens there for sure.

I suppose when I read the gradings of the QB's they could draft, they all seem at best an Andy Dalton type talent level. Which is fine when you trying to draft someone in the second plus rounds, but not in the first round. You would be best rolling the dice, but hoping your don't have to pay top dollar for something that is still unknown. Go with a Kap/Dalton type contract where if you hit marks like making playoffs etc you money goes up.

For sure... but at the moment your talking about potentially getting a top 10-15 pick in this years draft or having him sit on the bench all next season and watch walk in the offseason for free..

And Bill has a strong reputation for selling early...

I think there's definitely good reason to wonder if Jimmy G is legit... considering how the rest of Bradys back ups have turned out...

But the way I kinda look at it... none of these kids in this draft class look like day 1 starters...

They ALL look like development project QB's who need to sit behind a pro for at least a season...

In Jimmy G you have a guy who's done 3 seasons sitting behind and learning from the one of the greatest QB's to ever play the position... under one of the greatest coaches ever.

To me... you shortcut the 1-3 years of development you'd have to do with a Watson, Kaizer or Trubitzki(sp?) with picking up Jimmy G.

And you get him on the last season of a Rookie deal next year... so you don't have to get caught out like the Texans did with Osweiler and you can ride him out and if he turns terrible like Osweiler... you can offer him a lower contract he deserves or if he goes really well you can pay him a big contract... and you have the option of franchising him...

If the Patriots don't trade Garoppolo, it may say something about Brady's future with the team.

comp picks are in and the rams got a 3rd and 4th round pick.

that means the titans get the rams 3rd round comp pick.

so the rams are left with a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 4th comp, 7th from ravens.

not a bad haul after supposedly sacrificing their future drafts on the goff trade.

The problem isn't so much what they gave up... they gave up what was needed to get #1 in the draft.

The problem is the guy they picked with that #1 pick.

So far he doesn't look anywhere near worth what they gave up.

But I think you gotta give the kid a fair shake...

He really didn't have a chance last season with Fisher and his useless oc. It was a textbook lesson on how not to get your #1 pick ready for the season.

I'm excited that he has the chance now to work with real offensive coaches. We'll have a better idea of what he is after this season.

For me Goff at best will be another Kirk Cousins. Mid range NFL starter who needs a lot of pieces around him to succeed.

That's not a knock on Goff as such, there's a lot of teams that would kill for a Kirk Cousins level QB (mine included), I just don't see a high ceiling for him though. He will need a lot of pieces around him.

Neither of those deals were as bad as reported, i mean the Eagles have their full compliment PLUS one of the browns 4th round compensatory picks.
And next year we'll lose a 2nd but have 3x 4th round picks to move up into the second if we want. The fact we got a 1st and 4th back for Bradford really helped the eagles situation but neither team really sacrificed the future in terms of what they gave up

Now time will tell if they were the right moves to make based on the success of those QBs. I can tell you though id do that deal 100 times out of 100 to get Wentz
