For once the Indige boys have a really strong pack, probably stronger than the All Stars

This will be good if there is some feeling in the game

I don't really care who wins. I just want to see no Souths players get injured.

I think that koori team is the best one they've ever fielded. It's got a lot of footy in it.

What happened to the world side picking the international captains? Pretty ordinary team. On paper this is a pretty big mismatch.

Leilua and Hayne have pulled out now. I paid money to watch a team called the 'World All Stars' and the squad they have now is barely First Grade standard.
Total waste of money.

And what do you suggest in their place, @alien?

Serious question. Since Toohey's Challenge died back in the 90's the NRL pre-season has struggled for structure and relevance - the Nines and All Stars have to some extent addressed that (while not to the suitabilities of all clubs).

Going back to the shit ages of no formal pre-season and only having club-organised, NRL-ratified trials would be a step backwards. The only thing I'd accept in it's place was a more formal pre-season structure backed by the NRL in a similar way to the AFL's pre-season comp.

Pre season doesn't need a comp - it's insignificant. The pre season games should just be used to get some combinations going, and to get some more fitness, and maybe fight for positions in the team for Round 1. The teams really only need 2 trial games.

They're also an opportunity to build exposure, interest and even gain sponsorship for the competition proper. 2-3 trial games is ideal - but the format needs to be right.

As I said - if Nines and All Stars disappear, something structured with the clubs needs to replace it.

Teams updated with substantial changes to the 'World' side and a handful for the Indigenous.

That 1-7 is hilariously bad. Worse than the average NRL backline.

Akuila Uate? He was dropped by the Knights ffs and they won a single game all year. Beale is the Sharks worst back. Mead is the Broncos lowest paid player... aside from the forwards it looks like they went out of their way to pick the worst possible lineup they could.

How did Bennett convince them to pick only one Broncos player between both teams and for it to be a guy on minimum wage?

This is worse than the City vs Country fixture.

You know an NRL All stars team is bad when from 1-7 Mitch Moses is probably the best player there

What happened to the name "NRL all stars"?
