The Tigers forward pack doesn't have any go forward. It's forcing their backs to come in-field, limiting the space for Tedesco and Moses to rip into the fringes of the opposition defensive line. Only one forward ran more than ten times, and he was the idiot who got himself binned for a coward's punch.
I know none of their reserve teams are setting the world on fire, but surely they'd be better off making some changes and giving players like Felise & Sironen a shot? Even though he hasn't particularly shown a lot, even Lovett would be an improvement on those who played tonight.
Meanwhile I really like this configuration of Souths. Walker is a far more skillful at fullback than Johnston who is valuable on the wing. Furthermore, shifting Sutton into the five-eighth role allows Souths to play with more go forward. While they're out of the premiership race, it's these type of bold selection decisions that could put Souths in the frame come 2018.
All Madge needs to do is move on the Burgess twins, and they'd be half-way there.
