The ad on TV when they show the clap has an audio effect with the clapping sound to make it sound better than it actually is.

This audio effect they also use live at the Canberra ground just before the players run out.

Not what one would call actual realism.
Any proof of that sport?

I'm a Sharks fan, and we love to make fun of the Viking clap, and celebrate Ennis' "Dolphin" clap.

But seriously, if you don't think 15-20 000 people getting behind their team, making noise, having fun together, isn't good for the game, you should join the NRL marketing department, you'd fit right in.

My 4 year old daughter says she likes football, because I watch it and like it, but in reality she doesn't watch more than 30 seconds. But she runs out to join in with the Viking clap. She loves it.

Just have to make sure she realises the Dolphin clap is better....

If you can't tell the difference between real clapping and pre-recorded mixed clapping, that not my problem...sport.

Listen carefully...without your pre-concieved bias. Just an observation on my behalf that is pretty obvious that there is a backing track played.

Sorry, I didn't realise I was dealing with a Clapologist.

Just forget skeepe he's one of our many special ones.

That's part of the joy of this online community. Most of the time, most of us can hold intelligent conversation, and be only a little biased. But every team has their incredibly one eyed supporters, and they add a bit of spice to the forums.

You've got to admit, Skeepe adds a unique perspective to Raiders (and other) threads.
