I may have been generous to Penrith then.
A very significant number of Penrith fans believe this match should have been played at Penrith. Quite a few went anyway, but safe to say some didn't. You can market a poor product and blame the intended customers if they reject it, but you won't run a successful business doing so.

59k for the Roosters v Bunnies in round 26, 2013. Both team were going for the minor premiership.

So the potential for 60k plus is there at ANZ, but a packed Allianz (death trap) for one last time would be awesome.

Have been to several Sydney vs wanderers sold out derbies, plus the Sydney vs Melbourne sold out GF. I lived.

As a Souths fan, I'd prefer a prelim (if they make it) vs easts to be at SFS. Close to home and better options for food and drinks pre and post game

We’ll then they aren’t loyal..I think they’ll be out in force though and they’ll make it close to a 50/50 split.
I hope so, either way it will be better crowd than had Broncos won, silver linings. Shame Widdop is out though, can’t see it being close.

A Souths v Easts prelim at Allianz will go off. Sell-out for sure and great for rugby league in the local area.

Last year Parramatta pulled 43000 vs the Cowboys in week 2 coming off a loss on a saturday night
With both Bunnies and Dragons considered big clubs than surely 60000 is achievable

Classic NRL scheduling the Roosters V Souths/Dragons game at Allianz instead of ANZ.

Absolute stupidity.

The game of rugby league isn’t strong enough to be locking out 20-30k paying customers. Serious muppetry.

60,000 was the number provided in the post I originally responded too and I said I’d be shocked if they got that.
Lol no, you were originally remarking at the Broncos 47k crowd and got shown up. Own it.

Completely agree.

Rorters will obviously have some tickets for corporates and most for their members of which they don’t have enough members to fill them so then their bandwagoners fans will get in whilst the diehard Dragons/Souths members can’t all fit!

The Rorters seem to think they have heaps of members so they shouldn’t be scared of having to play at ANZ but it looks like they were chicken...... that’s as they know they’d be greatly outnumbered at ANZ as their supporters for the most part won’t get off their arse and travel...

Sydney Rugby League fans need to go out and support the game as neutrals as thats very embarrassing having 40000 for a AFL game at the SCG and 25000 at the SFS.

It’s completely what we expected from Easts members though let’s be honest.

Their members won’t be able to fill the seats at Aliianz in the prelim so they’ll be space left for their bandwagoners...

Stupidity scheduling the Melbourne prelim against the Richmond game.. But it was expected after this week

If it ends up being against the sharks it would of been a sell out (nice little rivalry forming between us), but now it probably won't, it still should be a decent crowd if against the sharks, a bit more worried if it's against the panthers

The record for a Week 2 Semi Final in Sydney is 50,621 for the Eels V Bulldogs in 2007. I'd say we are looking at a similar crowd this Saturday night, anything more would be a bonus.

History has shown us the only time we are getting 70K+ is to prelims involving the big 5 Sydney teams playing against eachother. This has happened 3 times (Dogs V Parra, Dragons V Tigers, Dogs V Souths).
