The best thing about this particular thread is for once we have serious options in so many positions.

Several guys have listed their teams and there are differences amongst them....depth in a team is a beautiful thing and something we haven't had for a long time.

I just can't decide who I want in the centres and the forward rotation...a nice problem to have you could say.

Can't wait to see how IC goes with this new team next year.

I know - we actually have genuine options.

Not sure we will know what our strongest 17 will be until mid next year.

Its a nice change.

This would be amazing next year:

1. Lolohea
2. Nofa
3. Miline
4. Suli
5. Fonua
6. Reynolds
7. Brooks
8. Packer
9. Liddle
10. Grant
11. Lawrence
12. Mcqueen
13. ET

14. Mautilino
15. Twal
16. Sue
17. Eisenhuth

If Liddle can handle 80 mins this would be epic. If ET needs to jump in to dummy half for 10 mins or so then no problem but yeah wouldn't want him doing this forever.

Our bench alone is just ridiculous. We would steam roll over majority of teams like they were rag dolls. Brooks will really need to step up and steer the ship as Reynolds is more of a creative ball runner than an organiser + Lolohea should be nowhere near playmaking...just run the ball in open space and sniff out the try line.

The back row is a bit of a pickle, does ET play 2nd row or lock?

Would love to see Marsters in the team but with Nofa and Fonua we will have the shortest wingers in the comp!

Gee it's nice to see things finally improving,we definitely have turned the corner, since 2012 it has been like one sh:t storm after another and just when you thought it couldn't get any badder it usually did.Credit to the administration, which must be killing some in the media who loved nothing better than to pay them out all the time for our clubs flaws.

I like what the Broncos are doing with Thaiday.

Maybe start ET at hooker and bring on Liddle / Mc after the first 20. If its good enough for the second running Broncs.....

ET then replaces Eiso who spells and ET stays on.

That would mean:

8 Matulino
9 ET
10 Grant
11 Lawrence
12 McQueen
13 Eiso

14 Liddle / Mc
15 Packer
16 Twal
17 Sue

I doubt that pack would get monstered,,,,

The great bit (probably more luck than design) is that ET and Lawrence are both 80 min players.

Yep it would certainly b affecting sensationalist spineless grubs like Phil Frothfield & others @ Murdochs daily journal of fiction that we r suddenly competitive & devoid of drama & instability & this b4 an offseason where a no. of experienced hardheads arrive at Concord.

Also the return of our once peerless prodigal son & the addition of the exemplary Brett Hodgson to our coaching staff will b massively beneficial to our club particularly with the mentoring they will provide to much of our roster who would undoubtedly be in awe of Benji & Hodgo !!

It looks really good but I think Aloiai has to get a spot. Some good players are going to miss out on first grade.

They are all aware of this aswell which is a good thing. Competition for spots is always a healthy thing

But yeah I agree Aloiai has to be in there somewhere, his line running is the best I've seen since we've had Ellis

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce that forward Tim Grant has extended his stay at the Club until at least the end of the 2018 season.

The 29-year-old has played 39 games for Wests Tigers since joining the club in 2015, with his career total at 182 games since his first-grade debut at Penrith in 2007.

A former New South Wales and City Origin representative, Grant has been a vital cog in the Wests Tigers forward pack since his arrival, and said he was excited to be able to extend his stay at the club for a further year.

“These are exciting times ahead here at Wests Tigers,” said Grant.

“I think we’ve made some real progress in the time that I’ve been here, we’ve seen a lot of growth throughout the club, there are some great young guys coming through and that’s exciting for everyone involved. We’ve also got a lot a lot of talent coming to the club and are definitely heading in the right direction.

“As your career goes on and you come and go through rep football and that sort of stuff you look for different things that stimulate you,” he said. “For me helping young guys day in, day out, with the little things in their game is what stimulates me to come and do my best everyday.

Wests Tigers Head Coach Ivan Cleary said that Tim’s experience was a valuable asset to the club.

“Tim’s experience is incredibly important as we head into this exciting new phase for the club,” said Cleary. “He’s an important member of our forward pack and it’s been great to see him continue to develop his game this year.

“His commitment to Wests Tigers, both on and off the field, cannot be understated and I look forward to working with him over the coming season,” said Cleary.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe echoed Cleary’s sentiments, praising the importance of Grant’s leadership.

“Tim’s maturity, professionalism and mentorship with our younger players is something that adds value to Wests Tigers not only on the field but off it as well,” said Pascoe.

“He’s an outstanding young man that we love having at this club.”

I'm glad Grant has resigned but I seriously think he may struggle to make the top team. I reckon he is a good guy as well and we need that.

Good news imo. Finally puts the woods rumours to bed aswell. I think we might find he'll start with Matulino on the bench.

Huge competition for spots next year!

The competition for spots is completely different to this year. Who do you pick as our props when we have Packer, Matulino, Grant, Twal, Sue & Aloiai ?

Pick the 1st 4 as props & Aloiai in backrow.

Sue has to get his shit together. He has regressed & due to the unprecedented surplus of forwards hopefully the incentive is glaring for him to start aiming up otherwise he won't b in the 17.

I thought Sue had to go but he has come on in the last couple of weeks. He ran through Taupau and I think he has been good. I think he has to play in the middle though.

We will get injuries though.

I reckon Aloiai has to get a spot but I think when we played him on the edge he struggled especially defensively. I think at the moment he should play at lock.

We are in a good situation next year assuming some players come on. Brooks and Tui for mine are the big questions.

I think Benji will get a fair bit of game time.

Based on entire season Sue has been way below par.Hes gone soft.It was directly in front of where I was at the 8th wonder where he ran through the pathetic Taupau.I would've ran through the over-rated impostor he was so sluggish.Anyway the beauty for us is that the pressure is on for spots in the forwards & Sue in particular needs to find consistency next season & i for one hope he does.

2017 has probably been Sues worst ever year however apparently in the off season Taylor decided to make him an 80min backrower so he lost a heap of weight, I think that may have lead to his lack of impact this year.

Sue is solid, just needs the right mentoring and direction. As Vic mentioned he trained all off season as an 80 minute back rower. He was quickly found out in the 2nd row so has been moved back to prop.

Give him an off season under Cleary to put the weight back on + with a clear role as an impact bench prop and he will be great for us.
