Because the team was shit yet he was the best of a shit bunch
Frizz was better than Widdop
Der
So Dugan didn't get us to the finals because the team was shit, but the team didn't get to the finals because widdop didn't get us there. Ok.

And good point about friz. Another player that was better for us than Dugan.

Look
Widdop is the playmaker
If he was the answer there’d be no reason to spend a zillion dollars on hunt.

I’m serious
From what I saw , Dugan was definitely your best attacking player during his time at the Dragons.
He seemed very consistent.
I have dragons mates who were gutted that he was leaving.

Frizell is the man now no question
Probably was last year too truth be told.

I do know Dugan got a few pretty big end of year awards while at the Dragons.
A couple from ex players .
Red V player of the year being one ( so I was told on Thursday night by my pain in arse dragon mate that got blind at the game - last time I give him a free ticket )
I am guessing that is an award voted on by the fans?

He was the best sharks player the other night by a mile....in a shit all round display.
Sound familiar?

I never said he mentioned a specific player, but he talks of entire squads being of poor quality which is being negative about players at said club. It's not the place of a current NRL player to say things like that and I find it funny he does when the Sharks were on the bottom for so long. I don't care what he's achieved - and funnily enough you never hear of players that are better than him that have achieved a lot more (Smith, Slater, etc.) ever talking like that.

Smith had a testimonial game in his honour? Seems like one of the biggest wanker moves a player could ever do.

Individually, Dugan will give you some great performances. He makes big moments happen. It will be a huge effort to get out of his in goal, or a big run to get you out of trouble.

If you were to say that Dugan was our best defensive player while he was with us, you may have a point, but his attack is terrible. The only reason he looks so good is because he is naturally gifted. Sometimes his physicality gets him home, but it's never his football ability. He has no awareness of his support, and doesn't run good lines off his half. For a bloke that is so good at reading an opposition's attack, it's mind boggling how hopeless he is at reading his own team's.

So even the Australian selecters f**ked up?
They couldn’t see how shit his attack was?

Looked alright in the the World Cup.

Have a close look at the lines that he runs at centre and get back to me.

Or watch him butcher backline sweeps for a few weeks and then come back and tell me how great his attack is.

The only things I will miss about Dugan are his defensive work and kick returns. His attack is dogshit.
