We went into the 2014 and 2015 finals series on huge win streaks and fell on our arses in the first final, losing both.

Even last year the Storm went in on a massive run and frankly laid an egg and should have lost to the Eels

So I just think psychologically it recharges the batteries to drop a game or two running into the semis just like we did in 2013 and the Sharks in 2016.

In 2013 we lost 2 of our last 3, cowboys i think lost 4 of last 5 in 2015 and sharks 3 of last 5 in 2016. Pretty sure souths in 2014 were similar (definitely lost their last game to us).
