This Napa tackle and binning is a symptom of the NRL's head in the sand approach to "running" the game.
When it happened earlier this year it was controversial. Napa was binned, but not sent off. The MRC didn't give it a grading, but Greenberg said he didn't like it.
Greenberg, if he didn't like it, could have asked the MRC in the future to refer a head clash from "careless" technique. Or he could have asked referees to treat it as a send off offence.
Or he could have backed the MRC and confirmed it was an unfortunate accident.
Instead, it was left as a "little bit naughty" and in effect, the referees were given the green light to treat careless head clashes however they like.
So players don't really know if that sort of Napa technique will get themselves into trouble or not.
And so it happens again, is binned again, and again Broncos fans can say a careless tackle has hurt them with no send off, and Roosters fans can say an accident has been penalised with a sin binning. And no one can really say either set of fans is wrong for feeling hard done by.
A bit of direction from the NRL would go a long way.
