Other than the Lewis sin bin I have no problem with the penalties being given because, as far as I can tell, they’ve all been correct.

I honestly can’t comprahend how the majority of the rugby league community is blaming the referees for literally doing their job.

How about instead of blaming the refs for the penalties we maybe, just maybe, throw some criticism to the players that can’t follow the rules?

Other than Klein f**king over the Tigers, I completely disagree.

Some of the players are taking the piss. The refs are being left with little choice but to blow most of these penalties IMO.

The players are playing exactly the same as they played last season. The referees approach is what has changed. They have discretion and are exercising it arbitrarily.

f**k me there’s a fair amount of sooking over the penalties. This time last year everyone’s b*tching about lack of control from the refs, offside, lying in the ruck etc.
They draw a line in the sand & blow the penalties, use the bin (sure some are crazy but that’s always been the case)and now it’s ruining the game.
It’s got to start somewhere and I really can’t see the NRL backing off.
It’s up to the coaches to pull their players into line. That might also include teaching their players to catch the ball.

I remember how much people hated Bill Harrigan but all of those people who would constantly abuse him would give anything to have him refeeering now.

A lot of this stems from Harrigan, he allowed the players to get away with murder every game by ‘managing’ the game as opposed to officiating it. Players became accustomed to it and then other refs followed. The problem with the crackdown is it wasn’t 15 years ago
