NZ’s loss is Tonga and international RL’s gain. It’s a shame Australia couldn’t be ripped apart as well as they could field 3-4 competitive teams but... the ARLC are just too professional for that to happen

IIRC several Maori were offered honorary white status but turned the offer down.

It'd just be interested if such a key component of New Zealand sports was still performed in a society that explicitly rejected anything not white

(odd Diversion - My great great grandmother married a Korean-Japanese dude after she was widowed and he was allowed to migrate to South Africa in the 1950s, after being given special honorary white dispensation or something else equally ghastly)
