I reckon it’s more like BankWest saved Parra ....for now.

Also the fact the city of Parra is improving at a cracking pace. There are not any better rugby league walks than from Parra train station to Bank west stadium. The food in church street, Peter Wynn's great sports store etc.

Kind of missing the point, like the idiot who chose the worse two supported clubs to show as an example. If Parra v Penrith was Sunday afternoon, hyped up as an event, loads of stuff stuff for kids, panthers and eels members get entry would it draw nearer 20k? Dragons v bulldogs, Souths v sharks, panthers v roosters etc. make it Sydney’s game of the week and let’s keep filling the only decent stadium in the city and let’s stop being ok with 10-12k crowds.

Oh yeah Panthers v Roosters that's sure to be a sellout!

Any of the big Sydney derbies played Sunday afternoon and hyped up as an event should get 20k or so. Bankwest is a good stadium but oversaturate it with games and it will get the same crowds as everywhere else. The novelty hasn't worn off yet and people are saying all sorts of shit - let's take ANZAC day there! Good Friday needs to be there! We couldn't even sellout the 2nd ever game there between 2 of the biggest supported Sydney clubs.

If you look at Sydney fans most clubs actually like their own stadium. Take any Manly, Cronulla, Easts, Penrith home games to Bankwest and their fans won't travel.

For the biggest derbies we should be aiming for more than 30k. It wasn't so long ago that dogs v eels, dragons v dogs and eels v tigers would consistently get 30k+.

Have to agree with that
Hadn't been to Parramatta in a few years and after going there for the Tigers match found it to be a great spot for pre/post game entertainment

I was at the game yesterday. It is a great venue and was a brilliant day again.
Why don't they advertise to the crowd when the next home game is on? I didn't see or hear a single promotion for the Penrith game or the fact it will be the first night game. They could have handed out flyers to fans in eels jerseys as they walked through the gates. Or just put a sign up around the ground about the game and where to get tickets.
Yeah, how did Fumbleball ever get ahead of us?

Roosters are actually closer distance wise to Parramatta than Penrith are

What is the pass mark for the Magic Round? 120,000 across the 4 days?
I've seen reports (possibly in the Magic Round thread) suggesting that Fri/Sat/Sun are all set to get at least 40k, possibly more. Friday should realistically hit 50k.

Hence one of the reasons why crowds will improve.

You get off the station with plenty of time and theres plenty to do.

Not only that you have the Leagues club next door with a bowling alley and other restaurants.

With ANZ there was SFA when getting off the station.

God I missed going to games at Parramatta.

Agreed, there would be 5k Eels fans minimum at that game who are largely out of the habit of going. They would not think to look up the schedule to see when the games are. They leave the ground hyped about the great stadium atmosphere and how good the team is going and they are asking themselves "I wonder when the next home game is".
By the time they get home the world issues have flooded back in and the buzz had died down a bit.
Fans should not be leaving Bankwest stadium wondering when the next home game is, it should be burned into their brain with advertisement during the game.

I can't imagine Sunday will as it is Mothers day which is historically a poor crowd pulling day.

My predictions

Thurs: 15k (I am being exceedingly optimistic)
Fri: 50k
Sat : 42k
Sun: 30k

Magic round is very hard to pick the crowds as there is no interactive map and they are selling Suncorp in a strange pattern.

Thursday - 15k
Friday - 45k
Saturday - 42k
Sunday - 35k

Thursday?
Titans haven’t cracked12k at home yet this year.
Doubt moving a game away from their home and nowhere near the Sharks is going to make more people go.
Thursday night being the killer.
Saturday arvo maybe get a few more and people up there for other games.

Whats the forecast looking like for brisbane? Rain could not only heavily effect the crowd but also the surface..

Imagine the turf for the last game on sunday after 7 other games in the rain
