I'm curious to see if continued success at the Origin level increases general interest among club fans and improving attendance numbers.

Fair thought. Think if done with your thoughts in mind it would. Noticed some references to club land during the telecast. Surely this must help? !But yes , a concerted effort to publicise both club and international happenings would be a win /win. Good thinking!

I’d say damn near zero chance. I’m not even sure interest in origin has or will go up much as a result let alone at club level.

Saw a Storm tv ad for the first time just after the game for storm v sharks and cam400, thought it was a part of the coverage at first but realised at the end it was just an add

That game last night was positive exposure. From my angle positive exposure leads to positive relevance and goes well with increasing popularity. So hopefully it works that way . Half glass full rather than half glass empty I suggest! ?

Yes . A number of players were mentioned with links to their clubs and also the Kangaroos. So their was some positive references I suppose! ?

Newcastle crowd looking kinda eh, maybe 15,000? I think we'll see the Knights and the Dragons crowd dip a bit this week due to double cold front coming through.

Feels like nrl and origin are a different sport..

I know corporate types who love going to origin.. but would never go to a club game

But lots of people go to the Melbourne cup,
But you wouldn't see them dead at a provincial race track

Warriors game is always a big draw no?
Sometimes yes! Depending on the form of both clubs. Has been known to draw around the high 30s for regular fixtures. 37.5 last year I believe. But it was a Sunday and we weren’t total trash.

Just checking the ticketek site and the lower bays are down to the odd set of two seats together so its tracking for over 30 going by that especially given the good weather all weekend

Is that prediction on the knights game based on just cold weather?

My mate tried to get tickets a couple days ago but there wasn’t too many left.

Last week against the Warriors we got 12k when it was raining all day and besides that fat merkin that was running up and down the stairs there was barely any away supporters. Also our origin players being out kept the crowd down a bit too I reckon. Dogs have plenty of supporters in Newcastle (probably the most away fans bar Dragons).

I’m expecting it will clear 20k

If you try and buy a ticket now, you can select anywhere on the ground pretty much. For whatever reason Ticketmaster do not put on sale all available seats on their site until the day before a match.

So, at the start of the week when I looked, there was hardly any seats available. Those that were were in the upper tiers.

At the moment, there are plenty of seats on the Lower Eastern off centre bays. When those one have sold, we generally see 24,000 + crowds.

I think tonight will be more like 19,000.

Predict two games will be close to capacity this weekend. (Weather permitting ) Melbourne Storm v Cronulla Sutherland Sharks and West Tigers v Parramatta Eels. And maybe a 35000 plus crowd for Broncos v Warriors in Brisbane. (Weather permitting ofcourse )

weathers been pretty wild and wet last few days in Melb and a lot of the train lines havnt been running, which might effect the crowd a bit but i still think itll be a pretty good crowd

You can buy 10+ tickets in nearly every bay for Melbourne.
Half of Bankwest looks sold.
