I think the real issue is making blanket rules.

No way that should have been a sin bin. But there are definitely palm strikes that should be. Train a palm strike properly and it’s as good as a punch.

f**k off the auto sin bin for punching and judge each situation on its merits, and the problem solved itself.

I don’t mind him being sin binned really, as it was violent retaliation but in the context of the situation it sucks for only one team to cop it. Like you say, because of a blanket rule. Agree each situation has to be judged on it’s merits.
