Doggies deserved it, were the better team in that 2nd half. Newy switched off and didn't look interested in playing again until dogs went ahead.

Gavet should get the Private Pyle treatment tonight

Bulldogs are a team with grit and reasonably good defence for their ladder position, but their attack is awful and one-dimensional, relying mainly on the offload to create chances. The last two weeks they've played higher ranked teams with players out for Origin or backing up from Origin, which has been in their favour no doubt. Saying that, Knights clearly are missing Ponga atm. Their Origin players should be given a few days rest before next weeks' big game where they need to beat the Roosters or at least give them a real contest to instill belief heading into the back half of the season. They're a side who on their day are definitely worthy of playing finals football, but they poor decisions at key moments cost them. Last night they could've taken 2, even 3 penalty goals but instead chose to take the tap and try to run away with the game and those extra goals could've just got them home in the end. The Storm would've done the former, and the Knights need to get used to playing patiently even against teams on paper who they should easily account for.

In the run home the Knights tough games start with the Roosters next weekend, Manly at Brookvale and then the Panthers in Penrith on the last day (provided they're in the running for finals still). They've got the team to finish bottom half of the 8, but they need to refresh and do the basic things right again.
