We have been pretty crap all year but would still be fighting for a top 4 spot if we could win those games where we scored more tries than our opponents but still lost.

But Johnson and Fifita have been very hot and cold this year. In a team full of rookies we need the experienced guys to show a bit more consistency (we need Tallis to call some more of them out!).

Maybe that is also part of having a rookie coach. Look how Hasler has the Sea Eagles firing at close to full capacity every week.

We look good when we are playing well, like today. Any moment though we can turn that around.

Most teams are pretenders by this metric. We are just off the sides like Melbourne and the Roosters but even they lose sometimes.

We have some areas that need to be fixed up but we are pretty good. I know I am a doomer but there is a good side hidden in there. Just not winning the comp in 2019 good. Blame sticky for getting it so wrong since 2016 and wasting two years lol

I’ve been saying all year that we’re a year off really contending.

Aidan Sezer or Sam Williams just aren’t going to win you a grand final.
