Didn't expect that 2 weeks in a row. Great stuff... but bloody hell does Jayden needs a step and a fend. Haha

And a lot of catching practice! He’s been better than I expected though. I’ve seen his potential in the lower grades but he has played heaps better against tougher opposition in first grade, than i’ve ever seen in reggies.

God knows why Martin put the ball around 1 metre in from touch when Smith touched down much farther infield. No guarantee he'd have kicked it but it would've been much easier if put in the right location.

Amazing that Melbourne can get away with deliberate plays like this, right in front of the referee

Its a deliberate attempt to injure someone, the tackle was completed & he went the extra roll/twist. They do stuff like this EVERY SINGLE GAME! pic.twitter.com/8i1NSBo6mi
— Tim Rankin (@timmyr85) April 7, 2019

My guess is the MRC will put their heads in the sand also!!

Great work Doggies. Bigger fight than I expected.

Always good to play average and still win though

Played average? You were totally outplayed by a superior team on the day however like usual you had a 14th players.

Anyways well done, it's the 2 points that count. This Bulldogs team with the addition of 1 or 2 more players in a year or so will be a gun side.

Good spotting. I guess given the position of his first couple kicks he figured best to bring it out?

It was actually @RWB who highlighted it. I thought something was wrong, but his comment got me to rewind to confirm.

There was a lot made of this surprisingly. Pundits said that the refs were in the wrong for not making him kick it from the correct spot. It was also said that kickers have been moving the place they kick from erroneously forever. I always thought that as long s you didn’t improve the position from the correct one, that it was fine, but apparently it must be the correct spot, no matter if better or worse.

Martin and others before him probably move the kick to that position because it’s a spot they practice kicking from a lot, whereas a few meters in from touch is random.

Hazen looks like Paul Fenech while congratulating Smith. I'm surprised he didn't try to give Cam a good old Sunnyvale thong slap!

Edit: LOL wrong thread. Should have been in the cows v storm thread!

Yeah it's nothing new, I've noticed it a fair few times over the years. I always thought that the kick had to be taken in line with where the try was scored, but as what happened it seems any try scored within 10m of the sideline gets moved over, yet only seems to happen when the try has gone to the video ref.
