Always makes me laugh when someones blind hate comes out. Manly got the rub of the green from minute 1 through to the 79th. We get one go our way in the 80th & right on cue, skeepe looses his mind.

All we need know is for the Broncs to be awarded a penalty in the 79th minute right in front of the sticks to win 16-15, at least then the forum will have one less spanker.

Some absolute zero accountability f**kwit will come out tomorrow and say they got that wrong and then nothing will happen.
Only the 79th-80th minute?

What about minute 1 through to 79? You got the rub of the green with some atrocious calls for the rest of the game, funny how one bad decision instantly makes the numerous other ones disappear.

... this shit is waaaay old.

Thought you may have sought some help to deal with your continual disappointment at the NRL refs.... or found a different game to watch by now.

Cue this shit up for the next match no doubt.

I'm all for consistency, have a squiz at the kick put up by Ben Hunt (37:31 on the Foxsports clock) & the escort Mr. Lubba Lubba (Ravalawa) copped from the 2 Manly players (Parker & Taufua). Or does the outrage apply to bad calls in the last minute of the game?

In the cold light of day, I'm just happy to have a footy team that is willing to have a red hot go for 80 minutes.
Something that we haven't had for 3 years.

Was a good, tough game.
Both teams fans should be proud of their respective teams efforts.

One of the better defensive efforts from 2 teams I have seen for a while.

I'm a bit annoyed by the no call (but hey, that's football) but the problem comes not with the escort itself but the use of the video ref for shit that clearly wasn't a try a few minutes before and then the steadfast refusal to use it in that situation.

It's not so much the call but the bullshit use of the Video Ref being inconsistently applied that is the problem.

They were crushed after the match and Cherry is being a leader.

Last year they would have laughed it off, found a strip joint and Cherry would be in an altercation with a junior team member at like one in the morning.

Worlds apart.

Agree 100% Some referees are using the VR to cover for their lack of confidence and/or incompetence.

I am also a neutral and that is as blatant an escort penalty as you will ever see, and highlights two huge problems in the game in the escort being let go more often then not, and the refs cowardly habit of completely putting the whistle away in the final 10 minutes. Lafai should have been sighted for that. Manly have a case.

Really, " should have been cited" ? fmd.
Thanks to all you overreacting whingers I'm sure we'll now have an " NRL Crackdown " on shepherding / escorting or whatever you want to call it and there'll be penalties galore for a few weeks before it all settles down again. All for something that happens every game, every bomb. I expect the same people whining now will be the ones whining loudest when their players are penalized for the same thing. Keep an eye on DCE in the coming weeks btw, often guilty of shepherding himself.

Only IBM would expect the MRC to cite a player for shepherding. FMD he's a dolt.

Lafai sprints to a position in front of where the ball will be caught and stops right in the path of the Manly player who then crashes into him. That used to be allowed. Is that now off the table?
I saw at least 2 cases of Manly players running sideways straight into St George chasers that went unpenalised earlier in the match.
https://www.nrl.com/siteassets/operations/nrl-laws-and-interpretations-2018.pdf
From the NRL laws regarding escorts on page 17:
It will NOT be considered an obstruction in regards to a player catching the ball from a kick if: 1. A defending player moves directly towards the ball; and 2. Takes up a position prior to the ball being caught.

Isn't that what Lafai did? He ran towards the ball and took up a position before the ball was caught.

In the ref's own words to DCE at the end "in our opinion he's taken a position early and he's allowed to be there. He doesn't get there at the same time, he's taken a position early"
