Well what did you expect him to say? He wanted to be able to get credit so he could land another job.

Bwhaha

“Anthony Griffin was our first choice to be head coach at the Panthers for the next three seasons,” Mr Gould said.

“Understand that we did not advertise this position. We did not accept applications and we interviewed no other candidate. We are delighted he has accepted our invitation to be the new head coach at our club.

Anthony’s experience, in particular his background in developing elite junior talent through to NRL level, made him the perfect fit for this club. We are certain he is the man to take advantage of the tremendous foundations established by our previous head coach Ivan Cleary.

Gus visited the Broncos set up and was so impressed he copied it at Penrith and head hunted the guy responsible, Griffin.
Ill be fascinated to watch how Griffin goes this season. I hope he does well just to rub it in Gus's face.

Yeah so? He gives a sale pitch to why he chose him. Did you expect him to say something different?

I know it's in vouge to hate on Gus, but Griffin is so full of shit it's laughable. He arrived in Penrith in 2016 after the Penrith NYC team had won premierships in 2013 & 2015. The academy plans were also in full swing before he arrived along with the Western NSW pathways.

Credit where it's due ffs. Matt Cameron has played a bigger part in the pathways in place than Griffin ever did. I will say that Griffin has a good record of knowing when a player is ready to transition into the NRL & kudos to him for that, but he certainly didn't walk into a shit show.

We put 24 on them.

Panthers are a better side.

There is strike all over. Luai,Kikau,Martin,Yeo,Critchon can all cause problems I feel.

I hope its a good game.

I'm with you mate.

Looking forward to seeing Brandy shed a tear in the commentary box

Waqa, RCG, Sivo & Jennings said to say hi. Will Smith was going to chime in as well, but he was too busy running around in circles with one foot nailed to the floor.
I was just having a bit of fun. I’m sure Cameron is better suited to the Penrith style of juniors than ours

It's all good. It's a shame for you guys management didn't make better use of him. I can picture him pitching his visions to the board & them going "Thanks mate, we will go & sign Manlys broken toys instead"

We got some good players out of him but we’re the type to bring players in-house and develop from there. Cameron seems the type better at sprawling across a large area to engage players
