Yeah thanks Pou.
No worries Hindy111.

I watched a replay of NRL 360 late last night. Kent was seriously fired up and comes across as an obnoxious loud mouth but I couldn't fault anything he said about the Titans or the decision to exonerate Ivan Cleary.

Everything he said was spot on.

What that the Tittans owe him and all the Rugby League world an explanation and all the details about how and who they are hiring as their next coach while in the middle of it? It's the media that are obsessed about their next coach as if their lives depended on it and love to create a controversy where there isn't one. Fans would, without the media stirring it up continually, just sit back, chill and wait till the coach has be announced and then bake him for being crap or love him for being awesome.

What other reputable organization discloses confidential goings on and all the names that they are looking at while in the process and many times even after? It's the media that were doing all the speculating and name dropping, even by Kent's own admission. The Titans just did not confirm or deny and that by Kent's and that other clown mate of his(not Ikin so much) may as well be a capital offence.

How dare the Titans just sit there and hold their cards so close to their chest. The media all believed that Walters was the man and it turns out that the Titans horns-waggled them and it was really Justin Holbrook. How dare they trick us and the fans! Amateur hour administration.

I think the decision not to interview other coaches was very interesting, particularly when they indicated that they would be doing that.

You would never see a successful organisation in the corporate world just go for a preferred candidate and not at least test first hand what others could bring to the role. Particularly not for such a critical role.

Picking a rookie with no obvious link to the region is interesting as well. I would have thought you would need an experienced head with links to the region (or at a minimum one of those two things).

Holbrook has a massive job on his hands. I would love to see the Gold Coast be much more successful and wish him all the best.

Unlike lots of other professions, the ability of NRL coaches is shown in their very publicised results so looking at who may bring what is somewhat easier then say looking for the new CEO of a bank or a even a new marine biologist.

Whilst Holbrook may be a rookie in terms of NRL experience, he does have a 79% success rate over 3 years (72 games) in ESL which is better than any current NRL coach and better than other ESL coaches who have also coached in the NRL, such as Maguire, Anderson, Murray and Elliot.

Maybe so but his delivery is childish. They shouldn’t even be in the NRL. How many goes have they had? Let me try and think:

Giants
Seagulls
Chargers
Nearly the Dolphins if not for Redcliffe.

And now the Titans.

Consistent fail and owned by the NRL. Please relocate the useless merkins to central QLD or possibly Perth. I’m skeptical about them creating a successful entity there. I personally would move another club to Perth before them.

Didn’t realise that stat for him. I’m impressed however even you and I could easily get over 50% with the resources that St Helens have.

That's true as well mate. But results for another team is one thing. You still need to be confident that they'll be the right fit for the club. Maybe they knew the others wouldn't fit in and didn't need to interview them.

Do Kevvy and Meninga get along? Surprised that they didn't pick him as coach.

That's a good point.

There is something about that location that doesn't work. It's in a big enough catchment with plenty of league fans (South of Brisbane to mid North coast of NSW) so in theory it should work.

They haven't had much success with other codes either.

It's a pretty sad indictment that the Gold Coast Rollers are probably the most successful sporting side the Coast ever had as far as on field/court results go!!

It’s a pretty sad indictment that the Gold Coast Rollers don’t play wheelchair basketball. Bloody able-bodied pricks stealing the disabled’s cool team names.
