I suspect the Penrith contingency will defend Cleary all night long but so far he's proven to be another Mitchell Pearce.

Hell of a player for his club, shits it in Origin.

Nope. No defending his big performances or lack of it...unlike Pearce he is yet to play well in finals

Pearce lost every series he played for a decade. There will never be another Pearce. Anyone else gets dropped after a series loss.

Literally every halves partner he had was axed. Hel had infinite chances though. Until Nathan is picked after a few series losses he can't be Pearce.

One error. Did his job. Lot of defensive work. Involved in two NSW tries. Not his greatest night with the boot but the kicks weren't easy.

Nah, he was very ordinary tonight. He wasn't alone though.

Fittler cost NSW that game with his arrogant selections
Some of them are puzzling. Picking Guffo in the centres wasn't going to do it, yet Freddy had specialists Lomax and Crichton to choose from.

Carr had a couple of uncharacteristic mistakes which one cost a try. Cleary tried his best, but the bullshit surrounding his state of mind didn't help matters and had an unusually quiet game by his standards.

Capewell single handedly changed the Qlders chances, and he will be first picked in the next for the next game. Players on both sides suffered from lack of match fitness, but will e better fitness wise for next Wednesday's game.
